Up for auction is our 1984 VW Rabbit GTI,..it has a unique color combo of red with blue interior and is a 4 door GTI diesel 1.8L. Mechanically sound, allways had oil change at 3k miles, recent new itemsinclude tires, battery and alternator. Gets 40+mpg. It is not a rusty car but has an expected ding and scratch here and there. We have decided to sell because we no longer use the car and it has sat the summer in the garage and we could use the space. It will need an ignition in the column but the key will heat the glow plugs and my husband has a button wired in to start the car. It can be driven home or anywhere for that matter reliably. Car is a manual trans and all gauges/options including the original clock work as they should. We bought this car 4 yrs ago and my husband was driving it daily to his work without any issues and had roughly 180,000 miles then,..the previous owner pulled the car behind his motorhome for approx 60,000 miles so actually had 120,000 when we bought it and approx 147,000 now if you take away the towed miles. It has the mounts to be pulled and a windsheild crack or 2 from being pulled as well. We are honest in our auctions and our feedback reflects that. I wanted to add this to the listing,.."we are selling this car for what we know of it, it has the GTI badges on it in the grille, hatch and the steering wheel. On the title it states GL,..the previous owner (since 1994) who lives 13mi from us did not add any badging to the car and we certainly did not either. I suppose if someone is looking to bid on a specific model of VW for restoration purposes,..please keep looking. If you are looking for a good running/driving car,..please bid. I hope this settles the matter and if it does not,..all i can suggest is to bid on another VW Rabbit GTI where the listings start much higher in price". Thank You
