Vehicle Detail

Up for auction, my 1953 Studebaker Champion Regal four door sedan. I purchased this car five years ago on Ebay. The previous owner left out a few details, like the overdrive did not work and the engine had a knock in it loud enough to be heard around the block. Both of these "details" have been corrected.I used this car as a backround car in the movie "Evening" with Meryl Streep, and in the last Indiana Jones movie "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,"it ran great, even in 95 degree heat. Overdrive has been repaired , and a low mileage ( 39,000miles)1954 champion engine has been installed, along with lots of new parts. Runs great, no noises, does not run hot, and idles very smoothly. Since I have owned the car I have done the following; Rebuilt the entire brake system front to back, including upgrading the front brakes to the later and larger V8 brakes, had a new clutch disc installed at the time of the motor swap, installed new 205 series radial tires with portawalls, flushout, tuneup, new hoses, new coil, etc. I have probably driven the car less than 2000 miles in the five years I have owned it, and it has never let me down.I just took it out of long term storage, and it started right up .Heres the good: runs, shifts, turns and stops well, although one front brake is noisy, probably from long term storage, I will pull the drums off and investigate. Super solid floor pans and trunk, check photos. Incredible reproduction interior ($2500 plus)complete including windlace, headliner, doorpanels, kickpanels, carpet, sunvisors, painted dash and door frames, etc, all by a previous owner. All gauges work, engine has excellent oil pressure, wipers work (Electric, not vacuum), horn works(button on column), and lights work, heater , defroster and fan work, period correct style seat belts. All glass good, some slight delamination on one vent window. All windows roll up and down easily. Car runs well and cruises nicely on the highway in overdrive. Heres the bad: amateur paint on amateur body work by previous owner, paint has a decent shine, but some small dings, dents, bumps, etc. Radio hums but does not play, I never checked into it. Speedometer not working, never checked into that either. Chrome trim and pot metal trim fair, average driver quality, some pieces pitted. Rocker panels have some dents, a pair of NOS rocker panels are included with car, as are a set of all four window shades. Also included is the old engine( if the buyer wants it) and assorted parts. Started the car this morning and noticed the water pump was noisy for the first minute of running, I will include a new water pump with the car. This is a decent driver type 50's sedan and an inexpensive way to get into the hobby, without a lot of work to do. I am thinning out my collection, as my oldest approaches college.
