Vehicle Detail
An excellent example of BMW Reliability and Quality. This 1986 R80RT has been on the road for 25 years and 50,000 miles and runs like a swiss watch. If you have never experienced the Airhead BMW at speed they you are in for a surprise. This old girl will run 80MPH at 5500RPM for as long as you can stand to sit on her. (Bead Rider included) The paint looks new. There are a few small chips but overall the condition is EXCELLENT (she's been stored inside her entire life) for a 25 year old bike. She comes with hard bags and a back rest/luggage rack for momma, and a Brown side stand. She of course like a lot of the older BMW's has a speedometer that went tango uniform a few years ago and started counting tenths of a mile as a mile....you can imagine what that must look like on the odometer. So, the PO installed a Garmin GPS IV to monitor speed and a bunch of other non essential GPS information. I just bought and installed a Clearview windshield with their center mounted vent option....great to stay cool in the summer and reduce the backpressure of a tall windshield. I installed new Bridgestone tires around 400 miles ago. She is all original without a bunch of extra holes and such. She has been owned by long time BMW riders, enough said Her only down side is she spent a few years in the midwest and has minor corrosion on the aluminum alloy parts typical of bikes exposed to the miserable midwest climate. She's not perfect, but I'd bet she's better than 95% of her brothers and sisters of the class of 86. If it wasn't so cold in most parts of the country I would say she is a fly in and ride home bike.....she is capable but are you? If you do have the stones for such a ride, I can pick you up at the Las Vegas airport deliver the bike and you can be on your way.
