Vehicle Detail

1969 Ferrari 365-GT (2+2) Chassis # 365GT12647 Engine #11413GT Odometer Reading: 21,074km (not verifiable) This car was sold new by Harrahs’ Reno dealership to a buyer from California where it spent its life until acquired by me in 2008. While we do not know the first owner of the car, we know that it was owned in 1979 by Jerry Bass of Santa Barbara, CA. The car was acquired in the early 1980’s by Ferrari specialist Pete Civati of Hawthorne, CA. Civati. Civati had owned several very unique Ferraris including a 500 Superfast chassis #6039SF, 250 Testa-Rossa #0710TR, 250 GT LWB Berlinetta Scaglietti TdF chassis #1357GT, 250 GT SWB Bertone chassis #3269GT among others. In the mid-1980’s Pete Civati undertook some mild re-styling of the car to incorporate features found on the 330GT LMB cars. I have photos of the car being displayed at an Italian car show in/around 1985 and I believe that shortly after this car show, the car was parked. I purchased the car via an Agent who handled the sale of the car for the Estate of Mr. Civati in 2008. The car is cosmetically in very sound condition and is very presentable. As the car had sat unused for at least 20 years, upon my acquisition, I undertook a thorough recommissioning of the cars mechanical systems including the following: · New Stainless Steel exhaust by Stebro · Renewed Exhaust Headers with Ceramic coating in a steel colored finish · New Water Pump and all coolant hoses · New radiator core and new oil cooler · New A/C compressor (R-134), A/C lines and Drier · New Power Steering hoses and all accessory belts · Rebuilt carburetors · New powder coated wrinkle finish cam covers · New brake and clutch fluid reservoirs and renewal of hydraulics · Rebuilt Koni shocks and load levelers by FJB Ltd. · New tie-rod ends and sway bar bushings · Wheels restored and powder coated · New Pirelli tires · New half-shaft joints and boots · Replaced all fluids and filters · Comprehensive under-hood detailing The interior of the car features original leather which shows very little wear. The driver’s seat has one leather panel that has cracked due to ageing of the leather. This panel can easily be replaced though the seat is very useable as-is and possesses the proper patina for a 41 year old car. The exterior body paint is presentable with no scratches, dents or corrosion. Though I have had some minor paint renewal performed on the car, most of the paint is 25 years old. The engine compartment is properly detailed and the inner fender panels have been removed, stripped and renewed with new Wurth brand undercoating. The trunk carpeting is original and in very good condition. Included with the purchase of this car are the components that would be required should it be desired to return the car to its original cosmetic appearance. These items include: · Front and Rear Bumpers · Front Indicator Lamps · New Grille Insert · A nose section from another 365GT I am very reluctantly offering the car for sale in order to raise capital to acquire a new property for my business. This car is exceedingly comfortable to drive while offering all of the excitement of a vintage Ferrari V-12 engine. While it was my original intent to undo the body re-styling and turn this car back to stock configuration, I have found that the car is immensely enjoyable as-is and is appreciated by all who have seen the car whether they happen to be knowledgeable of Ferraris or not. The car is completely road-worthy and I would not hesitate driving this car on a long-distance trip at any time. Additional Photos my be viewed at: http://s637.photobucket.com/albums/uu93/3LITRE/1969%20Ferrari%20365GT%20aka%20Queen%20Mother%20LMB/ The car is located near O’Hare Airport and inspection can be arranged by calling me at 630-417-2876 or by sending me an E-Mail to bob@clickoncps.com. As my experience has shown me that E-Bay is a reliable marketplace, I have elected to offer the car without reserve. In fairness to all, I will not be accepting any “Buy-it-Now” offers.
