Vehicle Detail

I am re-listing this bike, this time with a very fair buy it now price. I need to sell, as I do not have the time or space for it anymore....unfortunately! Considering the time and energy and COST of all the parts for this project, believe me I will not be making any money on this sale!!! But, have to do it. Just parts alone are worth well over the asking price. Anyone restoring these old Dreams will see that. This is a totally unique bike. I guarantee a conversation piece wherever you go. Anyway, I want to revise a few things here to be clear. A lot of people asked if they could just ride it home when I had it listed before, and I have to stress that this is a PROJECT BIKE. It has a running motor, but right now it does not have the brand new carb attached, and there are many things that need to be attached and finished up before it is rideable. These are very easy to work on though, and all the parts are here!! The following was my initial listing with minor revisions... I am quite sure that nobody here or elsewhere has EVER seen a Honda quite like this! I am sure about that because I customized it myself. This old Honda came to me as a very tired old Dream 305 {pic of it included to show before/aft}. Basically, I cut the old beat up fenders off, rebuilt a new front fender from scratch, and have the parts to finish up the tail with a customized taillight and blinkers similar to the custom ones I attached to the front. Or, someone could just attach a stock taillight without blinkers. These bikes didn't come with them anyway. I removed the old "square" headlight assembly, which also housed the ignition switch and speedo, and built a new headlight assembly with 55 watt headlight and blinkers. I had to also build a custom ignition switch and that is attached to the horn mounting plate under the gas tank on the left side. I have a BRAND NEW speedometer for it that I was going to attach up near the headlight in classic cafe style. This NOS speedo cost me nearly as much as the original bike did!! You can look on ebay and I guarantee you will not see any speedos like this, for any price. I got incredibly lucky when I found it, and jumped on it!! I also bought a very rare, brand new upgraded solid state charging system which will support the 55 watt headlight. The old ones were always tempermantal and could only support a 35 watt bulb at most. In other words, you probably weren't going very far on this bike at night! It's also much safer in the daylight having a bright bulb...and this one is blue tinted! I replaced the old goofy high bars with low cafe bars. In the pics the levers and cables are not attached but I have NEW levers and ALL NEW cables for the bike. I sanded down the side covers and attached old car emblems ..."custom", "deluxe" and 305. The seat has a few very small blemishes and tears but only on the sides where hardly noticable. I didn't want to restore/customize this thing so perfectly that I wouldn't want to ride it. I wanted a unique look....but one that would make people look at it and say "what is that cool old machine?" The bike has a brand new carburator which has never been used! I stripped the bike to the frame and did the metal work on the fenders etc, painted the frame and gas tank{not professional job but it looks pretty good} , got the nicest side tank chrome panels and knee pads I could find on ebay....didn't spare the $$ when getting those! I am not a bike restorer and this is my first project ever, but I am a sculptor who works in metal etc and so I am familiar with the work I had to do on this bike to give it a unique look. I am not a mechanic though, and nothing mechanical has been changed. The bike does run...just haven't had time to get my mechanic friend over here to get that new carb on it and tweak it. It also comes with a spare motor {taken apart but all there...see pic} that has been re-built except for the head. The pic shows some of the motor and the rest of it is in boxes and I didn't have time to take everything out to photograph it. So, there you go, you have a spare motor if needed! Bike has brand new tires with ZERO miles on them, new chrome rear shocks, and brand new Megaphone mufflers. I really don't want to sell, but am needing the cash. My reserve is fair considering what I paid for parts and the mostly the time I spent last winter creating this thing!! I also have brand new rims and spoke sets for the bike, even though the existing ones are not bad, AND a never used wheel making/trueing machine that I will throw in as well, with several of each front and rear hubs that have good brake pads in them! AND a handful of other misc parts, like front forks in great condition and other things that came off a parts bike. All in all, this is an incredible deal...whether someone wants to finish up the bike, or use the parts for their own restoration, or even sell the parts!!! Ok...I keep on thinking of more things included....like brand new chrome locking gas cap, new battery, new coil, spark plugs and wires, new chrome air filter. All new handlebar switches. Customized chain guard. I have a brand new wiring harness for it that isn't in but it's included....not that the old one doesn't work. Also, in the pics there is only one header pipe and muffler, but I have the other one too and like I mentioned before I have brand new Megaphone mufflers for it. PS..
