1997 Ford Explorer four door SUV. All Wheel Drive, V-8 engine and automatic transmission. This vehicle currently has 193,628 miles on it. The VIN is 1FMDU35P4VUB56504. It was built in January, 1997. The vehicle is tan metallic with a light tan leather interior. It is equipped with a moonroof, power windows, power door locks, tow hitch, stereo cassette, air conditioning, dual front air bags, a roof rack, cruise control, electronic compass and outside temp. gauge, aluminum wheels, keyless entry and running boards. The vehicle starts right up and shows good oil pressure. The check engine light is on. The engine sounds good and there is no rapping from the engine, but there is an exhaust leak. The brakes seem to work well, although the pedal might be a little bit low. The steering is tight. The seats are fairly decent, especially for the age and mileage of the vehicle. There are some tears on the cover for the front console. There is some body rot on the rocker panel of the passenger side. That running board has been removed, but comes with the vehicle. There is also some rust around the rear wheelwells and some light scratches on the driver’s side. The frame has some surface rust, but I did not see any rot. The vehicle seems to shift fine and drives well around the yard. Since it is not registered, it has not been tested on the road. The moonroof works – it slides and tilts as it should. The owner’s manual and keyless entry remotes are with the vehicle. The tires have very good tread remaining. They are 235/70R15. The vehicle is located in Loudon, New Hampshire.
