You are looking at a 1962 Mercury Comet Custom. This car has a straight 6cyl engine. I purchased this car from a guy who sells vintage cars in Mason City Iowa. He made me a hell of a deal on it so I could not pass it up. I was going to start the restoration project on it this winter but a great investment opportunity came along for me so I am going to take a chance and put all my eggs in one basket so now I am listing it on ebay. I have had this car for about 30 days. I have put about 200 miles on it and it runs great for a 1962. It is a 62 so its not a perfect show car but it does run great for what it is. I drove it from Mason City, IA to Waterloo, IA which is about a 2 hour drive at 60MPH with this car and it ran great. I got over 26MPG with it. It ran straight down the road with no problems. This car is equipped drum brakes. It was painted within the last 10 or so years. The passenger window has fallen off the track and is not working. The window is currently up and the glass is not damaged. It has a 2 speed automatic transmission. It shifts about 30mph smoothly as it should. The engine runs smoothly and has had new plugs and wires in it also. The car has a new gas tank and repaired fuel line and filter. The car does have a small exhaust leak under the hood. I am not sure where it is coming from. It is noticeable but not obnoxious. It is not noticable when idling. Like I said I have not had this car long but I have driven it a bit so please let me know if you have any questions. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE serious bidders only!!!!!!!
