Vehicle Detail

1979 Maico 125 MC, restored to standard condition. This is the last model year for the Maico 125, and is a very hard to find bike. I was a racer when these bikes were new, and I like my restos to look as close to original as possible. This has the correct rear hub for the later 1974-79 125's, it is often missing on other 125 Maico restorations. I had the original handlebars painted, the original M.Robert front fender is crack free and shows minor wear for it's age. Wheels were disassembled and painted, both spin true, the rims are original and also show some scratches in the gold anodizing. All in all it is a real eye catcher, no one can just walk by it without stopping to check it out. Many new old stock parts were used to complete this. The pipe, brake pedal, upper kick lever and rear brake rod were parts that were missing and had to be made for the bike. The shocks are the original Cortte& Cossa shocks which still work nice. I tried to find an OEM pipe, but after 10 years of searching with no luck, I decided to make one up. Same for the upper kick lever. All the handmade parts were done with originality in mind. OEM Rear and front sprockets rear Metzler tire Original Maico gas tank decals OEM M.Robert side panels and rear fender 54.25 Mahle piston, fresh bore OEM Maico cables Magura levers, kill button, and grips seat cover OEM NOS Maico front spokes Lots of NOS bolts, nuts, washers, NOS number plate screws, Twin Air filter Yes, it does run, and it sounds like a potent little motor. The bike weighs approx 195 pounds with no gas. On Oct-31-10 at 17:06:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Shipping will be the responsibility of winning bidder.
