I purchased this MGC to restore it. If I do not sell it first, I will do that. The car is a 1969 MGC roadster with 4 speed overdrive transmission. It has 33,000 original miles on it. The car was unused for many years and has suffered damage from improper storage for some of that time. I purchased the car when I did because I did not want to see it simply dismantled and parted out as the previous owner was going to do.If the car does not sell quickly, I will stash it in the loft of my garage until I have finished my 2 current projects. The first picture shows the car as I originally purchased it...I have since pretty much completely dismantled it, taken inventory of parts that will be reused and boxed all of it. Although there is considerable rust damage, the structure of the car is very good and straight due to the upgraded construction unique to the MGC. The floors can be repaired with (nicely fabricated) patches as can the parts of the underside that need attention. The inner sills are good, need minor patchwork and the rockers (inner and outer) will need to be replaced. Of course doglegs will need replacement when the rockers are done....none of that is terribly difficult and the parts are available. The car is fairly complete and retains all of its MGC specific parts with the exception of 2 of the 5 original wire wheels The existing three are in good condition. The fourth wheel on the car appears to be a TR4 wheel. I have only had the car for a couple of months, and have reconditioned some of the parts, cleaned and polished some of the trim items and replaced some items that were not so good. I have also acquired 2 front fenders, 2 doors and front valance as very good used and correct replacements (except for the holes for later year side markers). The car was originally (about 40 years ago) rust proofed by Ziebart. This apparently helped to preserve some items. From the research I have done I believe there were fewer than 1800 total 1969 model year MGC roadsters with 4 speed transmission built. I have the keys and registration to this car. I had this car listed for 2 weeks as a complete car and bidding did not reach the reserve I had set so I am now offering the car as a rolling tub with all MGC specific parts included. This means the winning bidder receives the rolling MGC tub including hood, with complete drivetrain (engine, overdrive transmission, driveshaft, rearend), brake system, cooling system, suspension, wiring harness, speedometer, keys and registration..All MGC exclusive parts....Most if not all parts common to MGB are not included...some examples are...dash, interior,top, windshield, light assemblies, tonneau cover, replacement fenders and doors, heater assembly, windshield wiper motor and assembly, turn and w/w switches...but will be available for sale to the winning bidder. The starting bid is $2,500.00 and will buy the car (Tub and MGC specific components) as described......Note: the engine is disassembled...all components look good with all original parts. Also, this car will no longer be available for sale after Nov. 15th, if it does not sell by then I will place it in storage until I can do the restoration myself.
