I have finally finished my bus!! I have owned this bus for almost 5 years and have been working on it off and on in between work and getting married:) It started as a shell when I bought it and I have put a lot of time, energy and money into this thing. My plan was to keep it as a camping/extra rig, but circumstances have forced me to sell! I wish I could keep it, but I know it will be an awesome addition to anyone's collection or life! I will describe everything I know, and if I forget something, just shoot me a question and I am sure Ill have the answer!! This bus was stripped down to the metal with no interior, it has come a long way! I had all of the mechanical work done by a local VW shop who if you ask anyone in Boise, they are the guys to take it to! Over the last few years I have done mostly mechanical improvements, with the cosmetic improvements done this year. The motor was in decent shape when I bought it, but it did need a few things. I have had the electrical, distributor, battery and timing all done recently. It is a 1600 cc 4 cylinder motor that runs out great! It was in there about a month ago for the battery and they said everything looked great! The tires and wheels have less than 500 miles on them bought at a local Les Schwab(over 1000 dollars in wheels and tires) The body work and paint were professionally done with PPG paint. It is a very custom looking bus with the bright Green paint and aluminum wheels and low profile tires. The interior was professionally done with everything from headliner, new seats, and bench seats. The door panels and back head liner are finished with Knotty Alder with clear laquer and the floors are Bamboo hardwood. A brand new JVC am-fm cd player was just installed last week. A new winshield was put in less than a year ago. This van needs nothing! Like I said before, I would love to keep this bus! But, it has to go. Let the pictures do the talking.
