Vehicle Detail

This is the perfect vehicle for someone. I bought it in July 2010 out of Texas and have put 25,000 miles on it since then so it presently has 153k miles on it. At 128k miles it had been taken to a Toyota dealer in Fort Worth, TX with a complaint of a clunking sound from the engine. A previous non-Toyota mechanic had changed belts and somehow loosened up the main crankshaft pulley which was wobbling around on the crank. It was not fixable. A mechanic at the Fort Worth Toyota dealer bought it and an engine from a salvage yard and completely rebuilt that engine with all new internal parts. I regret that I don't have any documentation, but if you drive this car you'll agree that it runs absolutely perfect and is as quiet as a new engine. I do not want to sell this car and intended on keeping it forever, however because of a job change I now drive 1100 miles/week. This 4Runner gets 22-25 mpg on the highway at 75-80 mph so I bought a Prius to save on gas costs. Everything works. It has a Sony CD/FM player, AC, power windows and locks, adjustable steering column, fold-down rear seats, and bike clamps on the roof rack for 2 bikes. It also has a heavy-duty 2" receiver trailer hitch, ABS, and front airbags for safety. Towing capacity is 3500 lbs. I've only towed a landscape trailer a few times a year. The tires are in good shape and will easily last another winter. It does fine in the snow. The brakes are still in great shape. I just had them checked and the brake fluid flushed last week. I always run synthetic oil in it. This car should easily go to 300k miles. It has the 2.7 liter fuel-injected 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that is known to be practically bulletproof. It also has the automatic transmission and is a 2WD. Call me crazy, but I looked all over the USA for a 2WD 4Runner when I bought this one. I don't think 4WD is worth the cost and gas mileage hit for the 2 days/year that I'd use it in Fort Collins. The driver's seat has some wear on the side and cracking of the vinyl, but the rest of the upholstery looks great. The paint still shines without oxidation anywhere and I don't believe it has ever been in a wreck. It has a minor cosmetic dent in the left rear corner gray sheet metal that is in front of the bumper. There is some weathering on the plastic front grill that you can see in the pictures. The 1995-2002 Toyota 4Runner is the top of the 4Runner evolution. Before those years, 4Runners were good but prone to rust. After those years Toyota started to make it larger and more of a luxury vehicle.
