Vehicle Detail

Let me start by saying, I thought I would never sell my GTO, but circumstances tend to change as we get older. I have owned this car for about 10 years and it has undergone an extensive rebuild to bring it back to factory original condition. I have over 25K invested in this car with virtually everything rebuilt, refurbished, or replaced on it, and car has less than 1000 miles on entire refurb. When I acquired the vehicle it had rust in the common places that these A bodies have, rear window, rear quarters, trunk pan, bottoms of both front fenders, which were all replaced with quality patch/replacement panels. the frame was media blasted and POR 15 applied, and was painted the proper GM frame black. I installed aftermarket front disc brakes/power booster kit, which is the only thing not original to the car. I acquired a year matching 1967 YS 400 engine, and 670 heads and had a local machine shop that specializes in Pontiac do the machine work. I built the engine to 400 HO specifications using the correct cam/pistons the reproduce a 360 hp HO 10 3/4 to 1 motor ( MUST RUN PREMIUM FUEL). I installed a correct Rochester carburetor, correct intake, brackets, hoses, Ram air exhaust manifolds, head and tail pipes capped off with the correct chrome megaphone tips , and all the little details that make this car factory correct. The transmission is a turbo 400 with a shift kit, and a deep GM transpan for extra cooling. I installed a 1 1/4 front sway bar, and a factory rear sway bar with boxed control arms, new springs at all four corners, and polyurethane bushings for improved handling. I also rebuilt the front end which also has polyurethane bushings. The car rides on 15" rally I wheels, wrapped in BF Goodrich radial T/As with less than 1000 miles on them. All the chrome has been replated / re chromed or replaced except for the rear Quarter window moldings which are not yet available, but are in decent condition. The Paint is the original Tyrol Blue two stage base coat clear coat (cost me just under 5k) and has a beautiful shine! The grille surrounds, and front turn signals are new, front grilles re chromed, as is the rear. The radiator is an original Harrison 4 core, and has been rebuilt with new tanks. Car has the original fan with new GM clutch , and fan shroud. Included with sale is a Ram Air kit, complete with pan, foam element, air cleaner, and extra Tyrol blue painted hood scoop insert....cool huh? The interior is completely new with new headliner, door panels, carpets, with special sound deadening padding, seats have been recovered with the proper black seat covers, and new seat foam. The dash pad i bought new, but the quality was terrible, so I searched and found a perfect original pad. I installed new gauges with Rally gauges / Tachometer and replaced the dash with the higher end, real wood ( walnut) rather than the decal. The his and hers shifter and console has been re-chromed, and painted topped off with a new shifter ball. The dash is uncut, and I installed an easily removable Pioneer under dash radio / cd player, and has pioneer 6 x 9 speakers in rear package tray. Also included in purchase is a 67 8 track player that I haven't installed yet! The only thing I was gonna do to finish the interior is buy the wood steering wheel. The front windshield was replaced after paint, and all new weatherstripping / rubber / window felts were replaced. I recently replaced the battery, starter, alternator, and voltage regulator. Car also has new RAM AIR / HO wiring harness with correct starter insulation tube. THE REAR: The rear taillights, gas tank, gas tank straps with insulators are all new, along with the fuel lines. all the body mounts have been replaced, and rear brakes and KYB shocks are new. The truck has been repainted using the correct year spatter paint, and has a hounds tooth trunk mat. The original bumper jack, and wrench will be included also. I will also include an original very used factory repair manual for the GTO. What still needs to be done: The factory rally gauges need the proper senders installed(temp/oil pressure) but I have aftermarket mechanical gauges installed. The horn switch/ turn signal cancel cam needs to be replaced ( was gonna buy new with new wood wheel) , rear quarter chrome could be replaced once its reproduced. GTO also comes with body pinstripe template if you so desire to have one painted on. Now for the legal stuff: Please read carefully and make sure you agree to the terms before bidding. We request that the winning bidder contact us within 24 hours after the auction ends. the car MUST be paid for in full within 5 business days from the end of the auction. If the terms are not met the car will be back on the market and the appropriate actions will be taken per EBAY guidelines. Seller reserves the right not to sell to any bidder for any reason, and to end the auction early as it is for sale locally . I prefer Cash in person but a bank cashiers check is acceptable, however car will NOT be released until the funds have cleared my bank. Car is for sale AS /IS Where is and I will help in anyway I can to arrange transportation if needed. I have done my best to make sure the descriptions are as complete and accurate as possible however it is up to the buyer to check / drive to vehicle to be sure it is all they expect . I have been an EBAY member for many years with a 100% feedback rating, and I will not compromise that for any cost, so rest assured I will do whatever I can for a smooth transaction. Remember your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this car, I strongly encourage all bidders to inspect the car prior to placing a bid. Please do not Bid if you are not seriously interested, or not financially able to purchase it. Any questions please contact me through Ebay, or at SSubgasman@aol.com Thanks for looking and good luck! I hope my baby finds a great home! On Sep-27-10 at 09:36:19 PDT, seller added the following information: FYI the trunk picture shows what looks like two batteries, they are not. they are two GTO models that i used for car shows, thanks Scott On Sep-27-10 at 16:00:40 PDT, seller added the following information: odometer has 27000 miles on it, i'm sure at some point it rolled over, however rebuild of vehicle has less than 1000 mi.
