1988 Pontiac Fiero- I have driven this as my daily driver (Except in the Snow) for the past 7 years. I am only getting rid of it because my wife said I had to get a daily driver that would hold a car seat. I drive it every day over 20 miles.I do not guarantee the mileage, but it shouldn't matter. I teach automotive technology so here is the info on the car. All cylinders have 175 PSI compression. Oil Pressure ranges between 50 -80 psi. I rebuilt the cylinder head this past spring- After removing the head it really did not have much wear- did a valve job, but it did not need any valve seats or valve guides. Has gotten the trans fluid changed every year for the past 7 years- regular oil changes. While the cylinder head was off I measured the cylinder wear- approx .001 on all cylinders. Exhaust manifold was replaced with a stainless OBX header (old one cracked and this is the only one available for a 1988- the vehicle is not hod rodded) this past spring. New premium alternator installed last December. New Belt tensioner from the Fiero store in January. Rebuilt Fiero Store Rack and Pinion sometime in the past 3 years- I can't remember when. New Calipers, rotors, and pads all around last year. Tires are about 5 years old- have plenty of tread left but are starting to dry rot a little. Transmission pressures are 117-135 psi (Exactly where they should be), Plugs, wires, ignition coils all replaced in the past 2 years. New radiator and all new hoses in the past 2 years. Power Window motors have been replaced sometime in the past 3 years. HEadlight motors both work, and have been replaced with AC Delco motors. Power Locks Work, A/C did work but now needs a new suction/ discharge hose from the compressor. Ocelot dual exhaust (Welded) installed 2 years ago. HEadliner fell apart and I have not replaced it yet- all trim is included, but is not in the car right now- I didn't want to take the chance of breaking any of it removing it a second time. New front Wheel bearings and hubs from the fiero store last year. Aeroquip stainless line installed to replace brake booster steel line that rusted through. Cruise Control did work, but in the past few months has stopped working- have not had time to repair. Suspension is all in good shape- new ball joints, tie rods (Needs rack boots- they fell apart when we ust did a wheel alignment on the car) Limited rust on underside of car. Timing gear, water pump replaced when I bough the car 7 years ago. Starter replaced 4 years ago. Fuel pump replaced last summer. Stereo is a Sony that playes MP3s- Not an expensive stereo. The vehicle should be good to go and drive anywhere. If the vehicle is going to be driven home I can replace the belt for you which is making a little noise. As with any used car I cannot guarantee the vehicle, but I figure it can be a good car for someone who wants to give it a home, or it should be worth quite a bit for at least parts :-( I am really going to miss this car.
