Hi, up for auction is a very nice original 1965 MG Midget Hard Top Convertible. MKII (Series II 1964-1966) The Midget is all original with the exception of a re-paint done sometime back in it's original color of British Racin Green. The original paint can be seen in the interior, as well as under the bonnet as well as in the trunk area. The original color as I stated is British Racing Green. The Midget has only logged 85,000 original miles. The body is clean and solid, has the original wire wheels, including the original wire wheel spare, with original knock-off's. The Midget has been started and ran in the last year, but has not been driven for some time. The brake system will need attention before attempting to be driven. The MG will need a new battery, and some freshing up. The MG Midget is all complete with the exception of the front bumper. The interior is 100% original and in need of a new carpet kit and new seat covers. I have a clean clear California title in hand. Please look at the pictures I have taken carefully, you will see the car is a survivor, solid and clean, straight with great bones!! This is a great car to restore... or... drive it the way it is, after the above mentioned have been taken care of. A Northern California MG Midget with great classic car appeal!! MG Midget MkII (1964-1966) Externally the main changes were to the doors, which gained wind-up windows, swivelling quarter lights, external door handles and separate locks. The windscreen also gained a (slight) curvature and was retained in a more substantial frame. The hood (US-top), though modified, continued to have a removeable frame that had to be erected before the cover was put on. The rear springs were replaced by more conventional semi-elliptic types which gave a better ride. The engine block was strenghtened and larger main bearings were fitted, allowing the power to increase to 59 hp (44 kW) at 5750 rpm and torque to 65lbf (88 Nm) at 3500 rpm.
