Im the 3rd owner of this vehicle. 930 Turbo Porsches were not legally sold in America from 1980 until 1985, this vehicle was imported into the U.S. as a "grey market" model. To comply with U.S. emission requirement, it was converted to U.S. emission specifications in 1985. This vehicle was also converted to an all steel "Slantnose" or "Flachbau" model as the factory did not produce a slantnose car in 1980. Review all the photos and read the description of this vehicle. Exterior: The body panels are extremely straight and solid showing no signs of damage, neglect, or repair. The fits of the doors, hood and trunk lid match the body with even margins throughout. There is no evidence of body rust or corrosion on the vehicle. The dark "Oak Metallic" green paint was likely redone when the slantnose conversion was made and today remains in very good overall condition. The paint shows even gloss throughout. There is no evidence of paint bubbling, cracking or shrinkage. As to be expected, the paint exhibits normal signs of use such as minor chipping and scratches in the usual high-wear areas but these do not detract from the overall appearance of the car. The fiberglass front fascia shows some expected areas of rock chipping and minimal cracking on the lowest areas. Likewise, the chassis is original and in very clean original condition showing no signs of rusting, damage, or abuse. The inner fender wells, body sills, etc are very clean and show no signs of damage or repair. Interior: Original and in good overall condition. The tan leather seats again are original with some seam separation on the driver's seat upper back. Otherwise, the seats show normal wear patterns but no signs of damage. The carpets show typical wear but are in good condition. The door panels also show typical wear but are clean and presentable. The gauges are intact and in working condition. All of the glass and windows are in excellent condition and working. Engine/Transmission: The engine compartment is very clean and shows no signs of neglect. Mechanically, the vehicle is in excellent condition. The entire upper end of the engine was rebuilt with new valves, seals, new piston rings, etc. The turbo was rebuilt and re-calibrated to the engine to achieve optimal performance. The chassis was serviced as necessary with new shock absorbers, etc. The air conditioning system was also rebuilt. The rebuild and maintenance was performed less than 1,000 miles ago at a cost of $10,000.00. The transmission was also inspected and gone through. Note: This engine runs cooler than most other 911 Porsche Turbos, I keep getting positive comments on how cool this engine runs! Wheels/Tires: Has the factory original Fuchs wheel with Pirelli P7000 tires Overall: This vehicle has all of its maintenance and history records dating back to 1985. These records show not only the vehicle?s history since being imported into the US but also show receipts of all of the work from its three owners during the last 25 years. The vehicle is complete with its original tool kit and manuals. Complete shop manuals and cover are also available for an additional cost. This 1980 Porsche 930S Turbo is in very good condition.
