Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a very rare low mileage (5,929 miles) 1998 Honda Pacific Coast PC800. This is the smaller version (800cc) of the Honda Goldwing and is among the last Pacific Coasts made. The only reason we are selling this bike is because I have ordered a new trike conversion for my 2010 Goldwing and I will use the proceeds from this bike and the other Pacific Coast we put on e-bay to help pay for the trike conversion. If this bike does not sell then we will keep it for our own use and enjoyment for many miles and years to come. If you are not familiar with the Honda Pacific Coast please take the time to go on line and research the thousands of sites about the Honda Pacific Coast and see what the world thinks of this bike. You will find that this bike is reputed to be one of the most dependable, low maintenance, stylish and fuel efficient motorcycles to ever be on the market. The Pacific Coast is rated between 50 and 70 mpg depending on the rider’s style of riding. This is the perfect bike for pleasure riding as well as for use as a commuter bike. The Pacific Coast has a large locking trunk area as you can see in some of the photos. It will hold two full face helmets as well as plenty of other riding gear. When you stop somewhere you can simply put your helmets and all your gear in the trunk where they will remain dry and secure just like they would be in the trunk of a car. Out of sight and out of mind! The Honda Pacific Coast was only made for seven years (1989, 90, 94, 95, 96, 97 & 1998). There were only about 15,000 of them made in the world. Because of the high price tag Honda put on this bike when they were new, Honda could not sell as many as they had hoped for. Because of its futuristic styling and its price tag this bike is called “the bike that was way ahead of its time.” The Pacific Coast has a very similar style like that of its bigger brother, the Goldwing, with the handling and maneuverability of a sport bike. Anyone who has ever ridden one knows the Pacific Coast loves winding roads. This bike also handles colder weather really well because of the larger wind screen and the way the air vents provide lots of warm air flow to the rider. The fairing of the Pacific Coast also provides really good wind/rain protection while traveling at highway speeds. The Honda Pacific Coast has an excellent reputation for low maintenance and longevity of life. You can find many PC800s with 100,000, 200,000 and even some with 300,000+ miles. This bike is in as close to new condition as a 1998 can be. It looks, runs, rides and handles like it just rolled out of the showroom 12 days ago instead of 12 years ago. All of you Pacific Coast enthusiast will be very interested in this one because, as you all know, this 1998 was one of the last Pacific Coast PC800’s made in the world. It is bright red with black lowers and the paint is in great shape. This bike is absolutely beautiful throughout. It has recent new front and rear tires, recent new battery, fully automatic battery charger/tender, tall wind shield, back rest, new additional LED rear light, new J&M JMCB-2003-SL 40 channel CB audio system radio, new Sansa 4GB Digital Media Player, new Kuryakyn Custom larger brake pedal pad and a new 1989-90, 94-1998 Honda Service and Repair Manual. I will also include a new oil filter, new gas filter and 1 gallon of premium Honda oil. You will need to purchase a J&M head set for your helmet. You can get J&M headsets on E-Bay starting around $60.00. The one we had set up to go with this bike is mounted in my wife’s helmet which she uses with the same J&M system on her trike. If you are the winner of this auction, you can use the headset we have to check the radio system when you arrive to pick up this bike. This bike rides and runs great as it should. All gauges, lights and brakes work great as they should. As you can see in some of the photos this bike has just recently (September 2010) undergone a Virginia State inspection which it passed without any defects and/or issues. This bike has been garage kept since we have owned it. It was also garage kept by the only other owner it has ever had and it truly shows in every way. If you are the winning bidder on this bike I can assure you that you will not be disappointed when you arrive to pick it up. If it is a Honda Pacific Coast that you are after, then you will not find one in any better condition or as close to new condition as this one. Remember this is a rare 1998 and it is among the last ones made. I have the log/record from the guy who bought this bike new. He kept a very detailed record of everything he ever did or had done to this bike. Unfortunately the original owner is suffering with cancer and the only reason this bike was being sold was because he knew his time with it was over. His daughter told us that this bike was her dad’s pride and joy and he always took meticulous care of it. After we purchased this bike we added the automatic Battery tender/ charger, back rest, new additional LED rear light, new J&M JMCB-2003-SL 40 channel CB audio system radio, new Sansa 4GB Digital Media Player and the new Kuryakyn Custom larger brake pedal pad. This bike is ready to ride short distance around town or long distance across the country. We added the radio to permit communications with other motorcycles and to provide rider enjoyment/entertainment with the programmable music system. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Hopefully you can tell by our E-Bay feedback that we do not make claims or representations that are not 100% accurate. We have always made it a point to understate the condition of any item we have sold so that when the winning bidder gets the item from us then they are always happy. I would not misrepresent any bike or item we have on E-bay to anyone. Having said that I can, with all honesty, say that I believe this bike will provide someone with many miles and years of service and enjoyment. This bike is in the best condition of any used bike we have ever come across. Also because of its excellent condition and bright red color this is a bike that has the style and appearance that a rider can take real pride in. Again I can assure you that you will not be disappointed in the way this bike runs and looks. This bike is located in Brightwood, Virginia.
