Vehicle Detail
1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar 88 Convertible Before the Olds 442 caught on there was the Jetstar! This is one sweet classic car convertible that you would be hard pressed to ever see another one like it in person. I have owned this car for over 8 years and had never anticipated it leaving my collection, but I have the opportunity to settle with Uncle Sam, so I am going to have to part with this nice old classic. I have not seen any Jetstar let alone a Jetstar convertible on the road since somewhere in the 1970's. This is simply a rare car that does not come around very often. Here is your chance to own a vintage car and be fairly certain that no one has ever seen one like this before. This Jetstar should make you the envy of the neighborhood. When I purchased this car I couldn't believe that I actually found one, but to find one this solid is close to impossible. The previous owner stated that the mileage is original, and that the engine is numbers matching for those of you that must have a numbers matching car. I personally never minded if a car had the numbers matching engine as long as the car ran great. Well I would like to state that this car runs and drives incredible. Every time you go for a drive this baby starts right up and floats down the street. I would have no hesitations in driving this car cross country. Everywhere you look on this car is extremely solid. They don't make them like this anymore. The body was recently stripped to bare metal and I asked my body shop to paint it the original beautiful Aqua Mist. This was an extremely clean body prior to the repaint. I welcome anyone to come over and take this fantastic old classic for a cruise. This Jetstar has power steering and power brakes. There is a brand new alternator and a recent battery. This car starts right up every time, and the engine purrs like a kitten with nice dual exhaust. The two-tone interior is in very nice condition with no rips or tears anywhere that I could see. There is a nice sounding AM/FM Cassette stereo in the dash, but no part of the dash was ever destroyed during the aftermarket stereo installation. I do have the original factory Motorola AM radio that will be included in this auction for all of the original purists out there. The chrome is in driver quality condition, but the stainless steel moldings all look great as you can see from the pictures. The tires have like new tread on them, and the original hubcaps are all still very nice. This is one sharp looking car! The convertible top is in good driver quality condition, and the rear window was just replaced, so the top goes up and down with ease. The convertible top motor was just refilled, so it should work great for many years to come. The original parade boot is included in the trunk. All the glass is in good condition, and the wiper arms are stainless steel with new wiper blades. The oil was changed less than 100 miles ago, and there are new spark plugs, wires, rotor, points, and a new distributor cap. The engine compartment was nicely detailed. The trunk compartment was also detailed, and carries a full size spare with the original jack stowed away in its proper place with the original mounting hardware. All the trunk cardboard and the carpeted lower trunk floor mat really held up well after 47 years of existence. I have always garage kept this car, and the previous owner said he did as well. That can be the only explanation of why this car stayed in such solid shape. Well, that, plus it has the Ziebart sticker on the rear drivers side window. The floors, trunk, and frame are in very nice condition. I only had room for one picture of the undercarriage at the end of the picture page. I just wanted to show how truly solid the entire underside really is. If you would like more of the same just send a message and I will email them to you. When you look at the undercarriage it looks as if this car were only a decade old, when in actuality this car is nearing the half century mark. This Jetstar has always been a pleasure to drive, and I will really miss having it in my personal collection, but here's a chance to pick up an incredible investment. This is a no reserve auction, so please only bid what you intend to spend. If you feel there is something I may have missed in this description, then kindly ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in specific detail. I want every potential owner to be well informed with their impending purchase. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!
