Vehicle Detail

Here’s a 1956 Fleetwood survivor! This one has been really taken care of over the years. It’s gotta be black if it’s a Cadillac! Elvis helped make this particular model of the mid-50’s Cadillacs famous. He purchased a Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special for his mother and painted it pink. The Fleetwoods were the most expensive and more rare of the Cadillac sedans. If you see a big Caddy it is most likely a Series 62 Deville, not the more elite Fleetwood like this one. They made 4 times as many Deville’s as they did the Fleetwoods. As you can see the interior is original as well as most of the rest of the car. It does look like someone has installed an electric fuel pump. Other than that it’s pretty much the way it rolled off the line in 1956. Full of options: The car has the “autronic eye” which automatically dims your headlights when it sees oncoming traffic. It has power windows and air conditioning (in 1956!). Also, it sold for over $6,500 at that time too, as noted on the original invoice. That would be equivalent to over $100k now. We have the entire history of the car documented. It was purchased in August 1956 and kept by the original owner until 1986. The car has only travelled a few thousand miles since the motor and transmission were rebuilt. This car has been in the garage for a few years so the brakes probably need to be checked out before any lengthy trip. I bought a battery a few days ago to get it started. The carburetor has been rebuilt and gas tank has been resealed. My Dad is not able to work on the car anymore due to recent health problems so we’re going to let it go. It was running a few years ago when he parked it. To get it ready for the road the gas tank was removed & resealed, carburetor rebuilt and all it needs is for the tank to be put back on and brakes checked. It will really make someone a nice Caddy. If I had the time & the expertise, I'd definitely hang on to this one! If you want an original car with a full history that probably wouldn’t take much to get back on the road, this is the one! There is no reserve on this one so good luck!!!
