Vehicle Detail
This is an EXTREMELY CLEAN well cared for example of a 1972 Suzuki GT750 LeMans also known as a “Water Buffalo”. 1972 is the first year for this 750cc, water cooled, two stroke triple. The GT750 competes directly with the 750 Honda of the same vintage and in my opinion it is much smoother and easier to ride. These large 2 strokes were known for their reliability and excellent road manners. This particular bike is from my collection and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and has been very well maintained. It is very original and correct. Much attention has been given both mechanically and cosmetically. Paint is in excellent, original condition with very few superficial flaws mostly associated with age and normal use. The fuel tank has a very small shallow dent on the right side rear of the blue color. The bike has received a full tune-up including points, plugs, timing set and oil changed whether it needed to be or not. Cooling system has been flushed and cleaned. Coolant is new. The ’72 model uses individual cable slide carbs as opposed to the later “CV” rack carbs. Throttle response is noticeably snappier on these early bikes. The carbs have been cleaned and rebuilt and are perfect. The engine starts on choke easily and runs exactly as it should. Compression is 130+ psi on all three cylinders. Electric starter works and starts the bike instantly. Oil pump was set and operates correctly. This Suzuki runs, drives and shifts through the gears perfectly. A lot of attention was given to the cosmetics also. The engine cases were professionally polished to “show quality”. The head bolts and washers all re-chromed. The shift, kick and rear brakes levers were all re-chromed to like jewelry. Front forks were polished with new fork seals and fork oil installed. The front and rear fenders along with the grab rail were also re-chromed and are absolutely beautiful. Wheel rims are original and beautiful. Wheel hubs were polished and new Kenda Challenger tires and tubes in the correct sizes installed. New rear brake shoes were installed, the fronts were still very good. All of the accessories turn signals, lights and horn work properly. The gauges all work correctly although there are some cracks on the plastic gauge cases which are not uncommon for this bike. The seat is in excellent shape with NO rips or tears. The exhausts are in great solid shape with a few very minor dings and scuffs with all cones and baffles intact. The chrome on the pipes is very decent. The battery is new. The chain and sprockets are in excellent condition. The right hand side cover emblem is missing some paint, it should be replaced. The leftmost exhaust header bolt hole was chipped by the previous owner (see last picture), I had it heli-coiled and the repair is sound. The center stand, side stand and footpeg brackets were blasted and powder coated because they were showing their age. Please understand that this in not a “SHOW BIKE”, it is not perfect. This bike has received a lot of attention to detail but has been used as a driver. It has minor imperfections and superficial flaws associated with its age and normal use. This GT750 needs nothing. A lot of the difficult and expensive work has been done on this machine and it can be ridden anywhere as it is, or you could restore it to show winning quality if you wish. Please look at the pictures as I have included many and ask any questions you may have, I will answer all. I know these bikes pretty well as I have owned several of them. I have a clear Minnesota title for this bike. This GT750 comes with the original owners manual however there is no tool kit.
