My wife has used it for running errands around town and weve also taken it on several road trips. We bought it from the original owner. The original owner (Mr. Malloy) worked for General Motors as a Property Manager and had always driven Mercedes Diesels. He used this car to drive all over the U.S. checking on projects. In the Summer of 2007, Mr. Malloy decided to buy a brand new Mercedes Diesel and send his son to college in Florida in this car. Once the car arrived in Florida, Mr. Malloy had his son take the car to The Benz Connection in Naples, Florida to have all the maintenance brought up to spec. I have the receipt from this service which totalled $3,125.76 in preventative maintenance. When I took delivery of the car in November of 2009, I took the car to my mechanic to have everything checked out again. Here is what my mechanics have serviced on this car since we have owned it: - Alignment, Tire Rotation, Fuel Filter, and Mobil 1 Oil Change Every 5,000 Miles- New 245/45 ZR17 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW Tires as of 4/18/10 mounted on 2005 M-B E500 Aluminum Wheels- Updated Tail Lights from 2001 M-B E430 Sport- Mercedes-Benz All-Weather Rubber Floor Mats- Entire Car Professionally Repainted in January of 2010 by Texas Auto Painting & Collision Repair in Arlington, TX because of fading Clear Coat- Windows Tinted (Llumar Film with Lifetime Warranty) by Global Tint & Dent in Fort Worth, TX (30% on Front Side Windows and 20% on all Rear Windows)- New Bilstein Front Shocks- New Sway Bar Bushings- New Serpentine Belt- New Air FilterAs you can see, the maintenance on this car has always been kept up with. Most of the miles on this car are purely highway miles, so the car shows very little wear in general. I still have all the manuals for the car - including the original window sticker and the receipt of purchase from 3/20/99 which shows that Mr. Malloy bought the car from Motor Werks Mercedes-Benz of Barrington, IL at a cost of $45,300 (including a 7 year/100k mile Extended Factory Warranty). Carfax does show an accident with "Minor Damage Reported" in July of 2006. This occurred when the car was parked on the side of a street and someone bumped into the drivers door, knocking the mirror loose and putting a small dent in the door. This was the only accident the car was ever involved in and it was fixed properly. What does the car need currently? Nothing. I just took the car to my mechanic to have the tires balanced and rotated, the oil changed, and the fuel filter changed for the buyer. It is ready to be driven anywhere. The only fault is that the passenger rear power window doesnt work. Get in this car and drive it anywhere while getting 30-35 MPG. Why are we selling it? Were expecting our first kid in January and my wife thinks shed be more comfortable in something like a small SUV.
