Vehicle Detail
1995 HONDA ST-1100 SPORT TOURING CYCLE This motorcycle presents a rare opportunity to own a classic sport touring machine. The ST-1100 was the leader in its class during the mid 90's. I purchased it in 1997 as a project bike. As the story goes, it was damaged after being stolen. The bike was missing the hard bags and the ignition was damaged. Other than that, it had some cracks and scuffs that took away from its appearance. Over time, I replaced a couple pieces of bodywork, the saddle bags, the ignition switch and key cylinders. The bike runs very nice; it has no mechanical issues. Last summer I replaced the spark plugs with new NKG plugs. I ride this cycle regularly to work and have been averaging just over 40 MPG. I planned to take my wife touring up north on weekends, but it never really panned out. Instead the bike has been parked in my garage for the better part of the past twelve or thirteen years. It is time someone took advantage of its excellent design. Although relatively heavy, this motorcycle is quick and exceptionally nimble. Improvements over stock include Heli-bar handle bars which offer full adjustment for the perfect fit. I replaced the stock seat with a Corbin saddle. It includes a removable backrest for the passenger. The saddle came with three nicks on the very back edge that I have kept hidden with gaffer's tape. It is very durable tape and you hardly notice it as anything out of the ordinary. The stock Honda saddle will be included with the bike. The negatives are cosmetic. The right fairing was cracked and the lockable door is missing. The accessory cover is missing right below the pocket. The dash plastic is cracked on the left side, right next to the windshield. Both gray, plastic engine guard covers are cracked. As mentioned above, the seat has three nicks along the back edge. One of the plastic pieces that fold down when the saddle bags are removed is missing. I keep the bags on at all times so this is not an issue for me. The ignition and locks use two different keys. The saddle bags can be removed from the bike and locked to the bike, but I don't have the key to the bags themselves. I'm sure a locksmith could solve this problem if you really wanted to. There are various scratches and scuffs to the body and windshield. I keep a USMC emblem on the fuel filler door covering a large scratch. If I were to keep the bike I would replace the windshield with something a little taller. I am average size and it is just an inch or two short when cruising on the highway. This summer, I installed new Bridgestone Battlax radial tires (BT-021/BT-020) front and rear. These ride really nice and have less than 2K miles on them. It has a new Yuasa battery and prior to delivery, I will be replacing the oil, filter, coolant, brake, clutch and final drive fluids. I would suggest swapping out the fork oil at some point. Extras include the Honda ST100 Pan European service manual and a set of new brake pads. DELIVERY: I would prefer to deal with a local buyer. If you live a significant distance away, I will assist in any way with making arrangements for shipping. If you are not local, but want to meet, I am willing to meet half way; up to 150 miles. TERMS: I make no warranty other than this bike will not be D.O.A. I have described everything to the best of my ability. As you can see from my feedback I am an honest eBay member. If you have any questions, ask prior to bidding. I have set a modest minimum to ensure that I don't get hosed. It's late in the riding season here in Michigan, so values aren't what they would be early on. I will require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end. You are free to come and inspect the motorcycle. If you find something wrong that I completely overlooked, I will refund your deposit. I will ask that the balance be paid in full upon pickup, or prior to shipping. All money orders, cashiers, and bank checks must clear prior to delivery. If you have any questions, email me at: radke7 at ameritech dot net. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the motorcycle is for sale locally.
