Vehicle Detail

Up for auction, my 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 series Limo.If you are looking for a perfect 100 point show car keep looking, if you looking for a nice original survivor car that can be upgraded with taking out a second mortgage, read on. Less than 2000 75 series produced that year and approx half were formal sedan,(no division window) and the other half being the actual limousine, with the division glass and black chauffeurs compartment. This is the limo model, one of about 900 built. All the75 series cars built form 1959-1965 used the same body shell, with the front and rear sheet metal of the appropriate year. The 1965 series 75 cars were really 1964 cars retagged. I have owned this car for about four years and used for weddings, local parades, private parties, and it even a back round car in the movie American Gangster. . The car draws a lot of attention wherever you go, as a 19 and a half foot long tail fin beast with a giant windshield should! I have owned it for four years, putting on 4000 miles in that time. The odometer reads 104,150 miles now. The previous owner told me it was owned and used by a funeral parlor for many years, judging by the originality of the car, I can believe that. During the time I have owned the car i have rebuilt all the wheel cylinders, replaced all the brake hoses, installed four new white wall tires ( tires have less than 1500 miles on them),changed hoses and belts, done a major tune up, installed a hidden stereo in the glove box, with two speakers in the front kick panels(-not even noticeable), I installed air shocks in the rear, and the car rides great, even with seven people aboard. Previous owner replaced the master cylinder, brake power booster, and upper control arm bushings. It appears the car was repainted in its original color, probably 25 years ago or so,and could use another paint job. There is evidence of bondo above each rear fender skirt. and the paint is bubbled and lifting on the drivers side above and in front of the fender skirt (bottom of each quarter panel behind the wheels appears to be very solid)..Some small paint bubbles along the drivers side front fender stainless molding.A few assorted nicks and scratches .The trunk and floors are very solid, probably because the car was garaged. Interior is all original, including the carpets, no rips or tears anywhere, but a few small(tiny actually) in the bottom cushion of on of the jump seats, only visible when the seat is open and no one is sitting on it. Windlace needs to be replaced, but the interior has a nice patina to it that always draws compliments, especially when you raise the division glass .Dashboard is mint, with no cracks in the pad and a nice shine on the chrome, steering wheel is also very nice.Drivers seat is orig black leather(power seat that works) in decent condition. This is a very orig unmolested limo, right down to the original jack in its original box (the jack still works) and the black wedge in the picture is the factory wheel chock! All limo unique pieces are on the car. The glass is all excellent, and the pass compartment glass is tinted. What works: lights, turn signals, front and rear heat, horn, cruise control, drivers power seat, all interior reading lamps, radio from front and rear controls( although antenna is presently hooked up to hidden stereo),division window(can be controlled from front or back)power windows (except rear passenger drivers side is tempermental)What doesnt work: had the AC system charged up about two years ago, worked well for about three weeks until it leaked out,I did not investigate any further. Wiper motor needs repair or replacement. Original chrome is very nice , with no rust out in the front bumper ends, and a few small dents in the rear bumper. The car runs, stops and steers well , although there is a slight exhaust leak , more pronounced when the engine is cold. It does not run hot , smoke , no knocks or funny noises. This is a nice original car that with some work could be a really nice unique ride. Great car for business promotion, air bag candidate, or restore it to its former glory. Reserve is less than I have into the car. I have had a lot of fun with it, but since my son is approaching college age its time to thin out the herd. Car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.Of course being a 47 year old vehicle there is no warranty .Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, Any questions email me or if you are serious and would like to discuss the car call me at 516 795 7027 after 4 PM EST. Thanks Dave =
