Vehicle Detail

I am a Mopar guy. I don't know anything about AMC or AMX's. My wife purchased this car because it is a neat car. Unfortunately our AC unit has gone out of the house. It's been 105 to 107 in the shade lately, I need AC more than I need this car. This car would be an easy builder. It is a 68 AMX, kinda burgandy color with tan interior, 390, 4 speed, front disc brakes Engine: The engine is disassembled. The crank has been turned .010M and .010R, block was vatted, magnafluxed"not cracked", The heads have all new valves and are ready to bolt on. The engine needs a cam, new pistons "unless you want to use the old pistons" and basically re assembled. I have receipts for 861.00, 1733.00 and 629.00 from the previous owner for engine work. Transmission. The previous owner said the T 10 4 speed was completly rebuilt The car has not been molested. Everything appears to be complete on the car. It even has the jack, space saver tire, plastic washer bag under the hood. etc... The dash is very nice "not cracked like a Mopar", dash unit looks like it has never been apart. radio still in the dash etc...tach looks nice. Now the bad side, the front bumper is slightly bent, looks like someone towed the car with a chain. It needs new quarter panel skins installed. the trunk floor is very nice" not like a Mopar!" The drivers side front floor pan has a small rust hole in it "someone prabably left the window down during rain. The drivers side frame rail has a very small weak spot in it. It wouldn't affect the cars structure at all. It is not a rust hole yet. It is about2 inches long x about1/2 inch wide. for some reason, the deck lid has rust in it. The previous owner found a good deck lid that goes with the car. This is a nice car. The interior needs new carpet. The door panels look nice to be 42 years lod. the glass is good. All the parts seem to be here to build this car. If you have any questions call me at 903-962-7214. I will not ship this car out of the US! I reserve the right to end this auction early because it is for sell lacally also. This car has a Washington state title. On Sep-08-10 at 14:12:56 PDT, seller added the following information: This AMX has the Go package. It has the number 6549 in the center of the dash. I looked in the trunk. It has 2 bellhousings, intake, pullies, radiator hoses, carb, space saver tire, driveshaft air cleaner, both exhaust manifolds, PS pump, smog pump, ALL of the engine parts were carefully labled and placed in zip lock baggies. timing cover. I think every part is there to assemble the motor correctly. It looks like it has the original air filter because there is a part number on it. Both exhaust manifolds have little copper tubes running off of them. 1 copper tube is missing. The oil pan is there. This car did not meet reserve on the last auction. I have lowered my reserve to 4200.00 dollars. This is a rare muscle car that should be an easy builder because everything is basically there. If it doesn't sell for 4200.00 dollars than I will go ahead and build it.On Sep-18-10 at 18:05:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have lowered the reserve and buy it now to 3950.00 That is positively the lowest i can go.
