1964 Volkswagen Beetle Here is a beautiful 1964 Volkswagen Beetle with a rebuilt engine, nice paint, nice interior, a killer stereo sitting on a set of great looking EMPI style wheels. This is a great looking Bug turns heads everywhere you go!! This Beetle is a nice and solid rust free Arizona/ Southern California car that still retains its original pan!!! This VW has been treated to a recent rebuild of the engine and it runs great. You could drive this car across the country!!! This Beetle looks great and is ready to drive and enjoy!!! Click to enlarge Exterior: The Bug is finished in a great shade of light blue that really gives the car that "California" style. The paint job was applied about 2 years ago and is of nice driver quality paint with minor imperfections but can be shown at a local weekend car show with pride. As you can see from the photos though it does look really great. All of the Chrome on the car is new. The car has been treated to new stainless steel body side moldings as well as a new VW logo. The bumpers are also brand new as well and look great. The cars exterior is set off by a great looking set of "EMPI" style wheels with brand new properly staggered tires. The glass is free of chips/stars and cracks. This classic Beetle looks great driving down the road. The overall appearance of this car is very nice and will surely make its new owner happy. Click to enlarge Interior: The Interior of this VW perfectly compliments the exterior. Two tone white and blue seats are in great shape and were redone within the last year or so. The foam in the seats is in great shape and they are very comfortable to sit in. The headliner is in great shape as well as the sun visors. The interior rearview mirror is new and looks great in its shiny chrome finish. The carpet is in nice shape as you can see in the photos and really goes well with the color choices. Up front in the trunk, you will find a nicely carpeted compartment that really gives the car a finished look. All of the gauges are working. One of the big highlights of the interior is a GREAT sounding stereo which consists of 6 cabin speakers and one powerful Alpine Type-R 12 inch subwoofer. The stereo sounds amazing and really adds to the overall enjoyment of the car. Overall the interior of this car is in very nice condition and looks great with the exterior paint. Click to enlarge Engine: The 1600 flat four fires right up and runs like a top. The engine does not blow any smoke on start up or while driving. The engine has been upgraded with an electronic ignition for improved reliability. The engine was rebuilt about 2k miles ago and runs FANTASTIC. The 4 speed transmission shifts great especially with the addition of an EMPI shifter. The car goes through all the gears without much fuss nor grinding. The engine bay on this car is very clean. The brakes have been gone through and the drums replaced etc... have been replaced and the car stops great. The brakes are very responsive and stop this VW with ease. Overall the car drives great and steers with ease. I recently had the kingpins gone through with new bushings and a 4 wheel alignment. The only things currently not working are the windshield wipers (the wiper arms are not on the car) and the heater. I would have no problem setting out on a cross country road trip in this car. This car is in great shape cosmetically and mechanically. I really love the classic look this car has. This is a well sorted Beetle and is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
