Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate. For those that are unfamiliar the Valkyrie was Honda's answer to the cruiser craze. The motor is a souped up Goldwing engine, with six carburetors, and a throaty exhaust. I purchased the bike from a Honda Dealership in 2003 with 2800 original miles, it now has 23,151 miles. The bike has a custom Corbin seat that is two inches further back, and two inches wider than a stock Corbin. I'm 6'-2” with a 36” inseam, so if you're tall you won't want for room on this bike. Current tires are Avon Venom radials specifically made for the Valkyrie. The tires currently have 4000 miles on them, and are in great shape. The only other upgrades are a chrome luggage rack on the tail trunk, chrome side covers, highway pegs, a throttle lock, and a battery tender which I'll provide to the buyer.. Bike came stock with an AM/FM radio, something I won't go without after having. The bike has never been dropped, and there are no dents or cracks. There are however some minor scratches and abrasions due to normal use. I've tried to illustrate these imperfections in pictures. I've been told by an auto body friend of mine, that with some compound, and a good wax it will look like new. The tank has some minor abrasion due to a tank bag I've used on all trips, again, I've been told these will come out with compound and wax. I'm not a polisher so other than some soap and water now and again, I rode it, not polished it. The engine is a six cylinder and has 1520cc's. Timing belts were changed 4000 miles ago as well as front and rear brake pads. Oil changed every 5000 with Mobile1, Carbs were cleaned and balanced this spring due to lack of use on my part. Bike runs excellent, has amazing power, and with a seven gallon fuel tank offers plenty of range. For those that don't know this engine is essentially bullet proof, a friend has a Valk with over 150,000 miles and it still runs great. It has always been stored inside a climate controlled space. I've been to California, Texas, Florida, Nova Scotia, and parts between. An amazing bike for long trips with or without a passenger. I haven't ridden much in the past few years and have finally decided to sell. I hate to sell but I'm just not using it much anymore. Has a current registration and inspection sticker, I have the title so no issues with the transaction. Good luck bidding and don't hesitate to email any questions. Good Luck Bidding, Joe
