Here is an exquisite example of the original, lightweight, 2.5L Porsche 986 Boxster. If you've been considering acquiring one of the legendary and now affordable benchmark roadsters, but have been holding out for a pristine example, here's your opportunity. I acquired this car from a fellow PCA member and enthusiast, who has an interesting tie to Porsche lore. Based in Milwaukee, the previous owner was a retired cheif engineer at Harley Davidson. For his final career assignment, he was relocated to Stuttgart for three years, and put in charge of development of the all new H.D. VRod engine with Porsche AG. After spending so much intensive time with the engineers and people of Porsche, he fell in love with the entire company, philosophy, and product line. He knew his first order of business, upon returning to the states in 2003, was to track down the cleanest, nicest early Boxster he could. You're looking at it. As you can imagine, no expense has been spared in keeping this Boxster factory fresh, and in perfect mechanical condition. In fact, over $4,000 was invested this year alone in routine and preventative maintanance. This includes all new plugs (& tube seals), coils, convertible top hardware, and brand new Hankook tires all the way around. And yes, the factory reccomended 30K service has been completed. Good, clean, ulta low mile early 986s are getting more and more difficult to find. These cars are so fun and reliable, it's nearly irresistable to not drive them daily! The original 2.5 Boxsters are considered by many enthusiasts to be the best, as they are the lightest, simplest, and best handling of the platform. And they definitely make the best sounds!
