1983 LAND ROVER 88 Series III I personally drove in central England until last year when I brought it home. It was properly imported with US CUSTOMS, DOT, and EPA paperwork adhered to before being reviewed and clearing US Customs. Minnesota Motor Vehicle also inspected all the paperwork before they would issue the now Minnesota title. Mileage on Odometer was 29,000 miles when I purchased it and stopped (speedo cable dry) working when I did some highway driving soon after. It was replaced after my estimate of an additional 20,000 miles were added. I do have the old UK plates if the new owner is interested in displaying them also. They look smart but all Rovers are born in the UK anyway. The Rover can't be driven anywhere without grabbing attention. Fun to drive around, especially with the RHD. The listing says 1980 because the US database cannot display later than 1980 as the VIN is only recognized by a EBAY UK data base. Both the Minnesota and UK V5 (registration papers) show it as a 1983. Resale price for either year is the same. As you can see, it is very clean with NEW SEATS, NEW DOOR PANELS, and a very nice interior. This Rover comes with a solid rear TAILGATE, and also a full BACK DOOR equipped HARD TOP for colder weather. Engine/Trans are in very good condition. Transmission is a 4 speed full syncro. FOUR WHEEL drive works perfectly and is doubtful the previous owner ever used it. Emergency brake works as it should. Engine runs and idles very smooth. Lights, wipers, windscreen washer, gauges, horn, and signals all work beautifully. Exhaust is in good condition with no leaks. It has NEW REAR DECK and FLOOR CARPETS. Tires are close to new with custom spoke wheels. Axle swivel pin housings have very good seals with no leaks. Swivel balls are bright with no rust. Frame is also in great condition. I recently purchased a hard to find FAIREY OVERDRIVE for the Rover to get better highway speeds and better mileage that can be purchased separately along with the ROOF RACK (Rack included only with the Buy it Now price). Fuel economy is around 22 mpg.
