1982 Suzuki GS

Absolutely beautiful 1982 Suzuki GS850L with a SUPER LOW 10,426 miles! Silver and black with gold pinstripes. The only way you will ever see an un-restored original in as beautiful condition as this is if the owner kept it in their living room since 1982, or you have a time machine. It's that nice. On Sep-07-10 at 19:33:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm a sportbike guy and a GSX-R freak. However, I'm 6'-4" and 245, so while a sportbike feels just right (but cramped) on twisty roads and at track days, they feel like a torture rack for just cruising around. Also, I wanted to be able to ride my girlfriend around too, so I decided to buy a classic 80's cruiser. I always liked the Kawasaki KZ, Honda CB, and Yamaha XS, but was partial to the Suzuki GS. I started looking and found a REALLY nice 1983 GS850L. I loved it, then wound up doing what I always do. Since I liked them so much, I wound up buying a slew of GS's, like this really, REALLY nice 1982 GS850L. As it turned out, more bikes I didn't have time to work on or ride. Plus, my girlfriend found bikes (or should I say car drivers) a little too scary. I just rode my other bikes that were already licensed and insured when I had the time. That's not often lately. I have over a dozen cars and even more bikes. I had to rent a building to do my playing around, but it’s really gotten out of hand so I’m going to thin the herd WAY down. This bike is excellent in every way, including the charging system (they are known to have problems in that area, but it’s usually caused by bad grounds, which this bike does NOT have). It’s all stock except for the chrome padded sissy bar and headlight ¼ fairing with smoke windscreen. Both those items are extremely rare. I showed pictures with the fairing on and off. It is currently off but takes only a few minutes to put on if you like it. It’s been sitting a while, warm, dry, and covered, ALWAYS INSIDE. Now the carbs need cleaning from inactivity, as all carbed bikes do if they sit more than one season. The bike fires right up, and you can see in the picture that shows the gauges that it’s idling at around 2000rpm as I took the picture. All that’s keeping this bike from perfect operation is a carb cleaning. IT NEEDS NOTHING ELSE. Not brakes, not tires, no mechanical or electrical work, NOTHING. The inside of the gas tank looks like the bike just came off the showroom floor: Perfect. Just the carb cleaning and the normal seasonal changing of fluids are all you need to have one of the nicest GS's you're likely to ever see. There's not really much else to say. It's a beautiful bike in fantastic shape. If I had the time to get all of my bikes on the road, I would, and this is one of them that I would absolutely NOT be selling in that case. But since I don't have the time, I'm representing this bike as accurately as I can and it's being sold AS-IS. That said, YOU WILL LOVE IT! I may be able to deliver if you are between Pittsburgh and Chicago/Milwaukee or between Pittsburgh and Florida, especially stops in the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area, Myrtle Beach, Atlanta, and the Clearwater/Tampa/St. Pete area.
