1976 Rolls Royce Camargue Consistently well maintained and renovated - Superb high driver quality or show car This is a very rare Rolls-Royce with Mulliner Park-Ward coachwork and designed by Pininfarina between 1975 and 1986. 1976 was the first year the Camargue was offered to the US market and only 64 Camargues were produced this model year. The first 176 were built at the the then brand new Mulliner Park-Ward facility at Hythe Road, Willesden, North London. 42,791 actual miles documented on its California title in August 2008 (see pic of title). Currently it has approximately 44,500, miles. This car is stunning inside and out and is the most attractive color combination for a Camargue. This Camargue was sold originally in California and The paint and body is very nice with no major flaws. It has a high quality repaint which has excellent shine and depth. No overspray anywhere on the rubber or soft trim pieces. The glass has no major flaws. The weatherseals are soft and seal well and it appears that the weatherstripping been replaced. The rubber bumper trim is nice with no major damage. The interior of this vehicle is very nice especially for its age. The wood is all gorgeous. The “cherry red” carpets, pleated tan color headliner and boot area appear original. The entire interior is in excellent to superb condition, dash pad is clean with no cracks and all systems are functioning. Within the last year I've had the car entuirely professionally color sanded and the paint finish is glass smooth. The also received an extensive undercarriage detailing which you can see in the photos. There is an upgraded Alpine stereo system installed cleanly in the dash (head unit and equailzer). The windows and power locks work. The A/C is cold and the dash gauges work. The large tire tools, smaller black plastic tool kit and handbook is included. Mechanically, the car runs strong. The car was taken out of long term storage about 3 years ago and thoroughly gone over by the prior owner and RR mechanic. Those service included engine service, parking brake service and brake fluid replacement. The brakes pads have over 75% remaining all around. The right- rear road spring has a spacer installed indicating it is weaker than the right rear spring (the car stands level). Other services included: oil and filter, differential service, fuel filter, new fan belts, engine coolant replaced, new spark plugs and the ignition system was “scoped”. The cap, rotor, wires and plugs were repalced. The exhaust system had a leak mid-point and was repaired. Four new radial tires with a sufficient load rating (108) which is necessary for these cars were isntalled and alignment was done. The vehicle passed the stringent CA emissions aka SMOG test at that time indicating an efficient and clean burning engine. Last month I had a front engine oil leak repaired, new fuel pump installed, carb throttles plates rebuiit and brake accumulators were overhauled, intermittent drives window switch replaced, wiper moter brush springs replaced and fixed some faulty ground connections on the heater control. The engine runs smooth and quiet and the transmission shifts well. The car handles freeway speeds smooth and straight. Rolls-Royce Camargues are rare to be seen even at Rolls-Royce events and rarely offered for sale. Low mileage examples in a desirable color are seen far less often.
