RELISTING DUE TO BIDDER FROM OVER SEAS BIDDING IT UP & THEN BACKING OUT. PLEASE, PLEASE, ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AHEAD OF TIME. FIND OUT SHIPPING COST AHEAD OF TIME. (I CAN RECOMMEND A GREAT SHIPPER). Here it is folks, a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Factory Limosine. Elvis would have loved this one!! As a matter of fact, he had a white one just like it. And of course he sang the song "Long Black Limousine." This Cadillac is in great shape. It was just on a 1,300 mile roadtrip, and it didn't miss a beat! The Cadillac is equipped with the original big block 472 cubic inch powerplant. It starts and runs great, and seems to me to be one of the most powerful old Caddy limos ever built! The Cadillac has had two owners. It was purchased new by the Union Oil of California (UNOCAL) as a chauffeur driven limousine for the CEO, the late Mr. Fred L. Hartley. The car was put in dry storage in a warehouse in 1974. The energy crisis was heating up at that time, and it was felt that it wouldn't be very good for PR for the CEO to be driven around in a big Cadillac while gas prices were rising uncontrolably! So this '71 Cadillac went into storage, and Mr. Hartley drove a Buick. True story! Unocal put the Cadillac up for bids with its employees in 1988. At this time it had 47K miles on it. The second owner (who had it from 1988-2010) was an employee of Unocal, and ended up being the winning bidder of this Fleetwood. This Cadillac was professionally painted and seats were reupholstered 10 years ago. Over all the paint is very shiney and in good condition. It does have a few normal paint chips a light scratch or two that would probably buff out--very minimal wear on the paint. In 2003 the top end and carburetor were rebuilt; also at this time there was new wiring, new hoses, new belts, new compressor, new water pump, new master cylinder, new drive shaft bearing, A/C converted to R134, and converted to electronic ignition. All chrome is in excellent condition. Many after-market items were added to this limo that make it a pleasure to drive down the interstate: power sun roof, dashboard protector (dash is excellent), boomerang antenna, power antenna, cruise control (works GREAT!), power trunk release, front fender corner lights, opera lights, splash guards, oil pressure gauge, engine temp gauge, battery gauge, tachometer, carpet, new trunk seal, new trunk liner, AM/FM cassette radio in rear with 300 amp booster, and custom Cadillac floor mats. This 1971 Cadillac comes with the original owner's manual, shop and Fisher body manuals, original jump seats for rear, door guards, service records, component manuals, and a few spare parts. This Fleetwood Series 75 is in great operating condition and can be driven anywhere. The front factory radio seems to be having interference/antenna problems; I will try to fix this before the end of the auction, but I can not guarantee it. I have seen working radios like this one on eBay starting at $25. The A/C has been recharged front and rear and blows cold. The rear A/C has a sticky valve and sometimes will not open. But lately if I leave the rear A/C on all the time, it has been working! The starter may need a few shims placed next to it. It will engage fine 95% of the time, and if it doesn't you just turn it over again and you're in business. The tires are great and only have 3K miles on them. Suspension was just greases up, and the carb and choke were just fine-tuned. This Cadillac is sold as is, where is. It has no warranty implied or given. Buyer is responsible for pick up. I would hold the car for someone for up to 30 days if payment in full is received within 7 days of the end of the auction. If you have an eBay rating of 5 or below, please contact me before bidding so that I can verify your good business intentions. Failure to do so may cause your bid to be cancelled. Car is located near Rochester, Minnesota--home of the Mayo Clinic. Message me through the eBay message system if you have questions. I check it often. You may also phone 507-867-1401; ask for Ben. Enjoy the auction! My Elvis cassettes are not included! Happy motoring! Thanks so much for the tremendous interest in the '71 Fleetwood 75 Factory Limo. As many of you have stated, "Where would you find another one in this condition?" Today I added pictures of the trunk and of items that come with the car. I went through a huge file folder of receipts totaling over $5068.00. And that doesn't even include the paint job. Many, many, dollars have been spend on this car. And it shows. Also included are schematics for just about everything on the car, and detailed notes on service and upkeep. The gentleman that owned this for the last 22 years kept the most meticulous vehicle notes I have ever seen. Comes with his "Cadillac tool box," extra carpet pieces, extra tool box, original spare which doesn't appear to have ever touched the ground, factory jump seats, factory foot rests, and the list goes on and on. Much work and organization has gone into this classic Cadillac. Also, I guess I haven't commented on rust, but this car is ENTIRELY RUST-FREE. Trunk, floors, rockers, you name it. I have not seen rust anywhere. (being from a dry part of California for most of its life helps!) Enjoy the auction, and Happy Motoring! CADILLAC. THE STANDARD OF THE WORLD.
