Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1989 Mazda Rx-7. The naturally aspirated engine has been replaced with a JDM turbo II motor from a 90-91 s5 rx-7 which, according to jdm-online.com, where the engine was purchased, should have between 35 and 40 thousand miles on it. This is a GXL body which means it has the upgraded brakes and electronic adjustable suspension. The good: Tein racing springs, cross drilled and slotted rotors, H4 head light conversion to replace the sealed beams, power windows, power locks, sunroof, rear spoiler, radiator was replaced at time of engine swap, new wiring engine wiring harness, walbro 225 lph fuel pump, tanabe racing 3" down pipe and test pipe installed to remove catalytic converter, 20% tint on all windows, Mazda Trix drive shaft to convert from turbo transmission to N/A rear end New clutch was installed prior to engine installation. Gauge overlays giving a silver backing and blue or teal look to the numbers at night. Front and rear strut tower brace bars (front not currently installed but included. Leather seats, power drivers seat, aftermarket radio kit installed with no radio. Factory radio included at time of sale. Rear window defrost. Has a/c which was never charged and cruise which has not been tested. K/N high flow filter installed. All power options work including automatic seat belts. It has a blitz blow off valve and a auto meter ultra lite boost gauge installed but not mounted The bad: The engine turns over and has good compression but does not start. The engine was rebuilt before being installed and ran for about 10 miles and then cut off. The computer was tested and came back as good and the crank shaft sensor was tested as good and a second unit was installed that was also tested as good. At present there is no spark and no fuel to the engine. The paint has started to peel off in several places The car was originally white and the paint began peeling and was painted charcoal to prevent rust and has continued to peel since. Power antenna has been bent and motor does not work any more. The windshield has a crack in it. The windshield wiper motor has been disconnected but was working properly when the car last ran. The vehicle does not run. It appears from all diagnostics that there is a ground fault somewhere in the wiring harness I have run out of time and money to trace it down and must sell. I welcome any questions and will answer to the best of my knowledge. Many parts from the original engine are included with the car if desired including the eccentric shaft both rotor housings and the original transmission is also available if desired. The car is sold as is where is. I will assist in loading on a trailer or tow truck if I am able.
