You are viewing an exceptional example of an early Karmann built 912. It was built midway through the 1965 production year, then titled and sold new in California in 1966. It's like a highway version of a 356 with the early three guage design. This is a genuine black plate California car with an exceptional rust free body and all matching numbers. It has had a full mechanical rebuild including engine #742909, transmission, charging system, brakes, shocks, and still has its original exhaust system. The original factory undercoat has been cleaned and re-colored only. All gaps are factory correct from no disassembly or accident history. The color combination is factory original Lt. Ivory (6404) with rare contrasting red interior. It has been repainted only once, over twenty years ago, and still has its un-restored, patina rich, original interior including seat belts, and crack free original dash which was covered on top all these years to protect it from the harsh California sun. The exterior sports the rare optional Talbot outside mirror, as listed on page 25 of the Dr. Brett Johnson 911 & 912 Porsche book, "A Restorer's Guide To Authenticity". It presently has a CD player, however comes with the original radio, and please take note of the owners manual, tool kit, and jack, which are also in exceptional condition.
