Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1969 Honda 450CB, K1, motorcycle. From what I understand, these bikes were produced at the end of 1968 and the beginning of 1969. This is a very hard to find Honda. It is the last year of the chrome panels on the side of the gas tank. These bikes were produced by Honda to imulate the British bikes of the '60's, the BSA's and Triumphs. This bike is a survior, it is not a show bike, so if you are looking for a show bike, or a bike in pristine condition, do not bid. This bike is a rider, with the potential of being a show bike with some work. This K1 has original candy red paint, on both the gas tank and side covers, and all of the components are original. This includes the exhausts, which do have the baffles in them, all chrome, and wiring is factory. You will see in the photos that the wiring has not been altered or cut under the seat. The bike does have newer tires that are in excellent condition, and the seat cover has been replaced with fabric that matches the factory cover as well as new seat foam installed. (I do have the original cover that will go with the bike,) The battery is less than one year old. The top half of the engine has been gone through, the carbs were removed and cleaned, new points and condersor installed. The original exhaust system does have a few smaller dents and scratches, see photos. The chrome on the fenders is very nice, as well are the chrome rims, they are not perfect, but very, very, respectable. The tach works well but the speedometer "bounces". I would guess that the head in the unit needs to be replaced. The kick start works perfectly, and the electric start works when it wants to, that points to a bad starter clutch which is weak and needs to be replaced to have the electric start work at all times. The headlight, brake light, and stop light work as they should. The turn signals need a flasher or the switch needs to be cleaned. This is a matching numbers bike with the engine number being CB450E3002306. Honda collectors will notice that the engine number is only 12 digits different than the vin number, very hard to find numbers this close. This Honda starts, runs, shifts, and stops as it should. I have a tool kit, (not sure if it is the original, and an owners manual that is readable and usable) Again, this bike is a survior, a hard to find Honda motorycle, when is the last time you saw a 1968 or 1969 Honda 450 K1? These Hondas are hard to find in this condition. To describe this bike in a few words, very respectable, a super nice rider, original, and survivor. When I take it to a cruise night, it gets all kinds of attention and questions. It could use a good cleaning and waxing. I have a clear Michigan title. Feel free to email any questions. This bike is being sold in as is condition with no warrenty of any kind. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. U.S. BUYERS ONLY, please read this statement. I will not ship out of the United States.
