1972 PONTIAC FIREBIRD Selling my beautiful 1972 Pontiac Firebird. This car looks and runs better than 95% of the Firebirds out there. It is a turn key ready to cruise car. Engine- Pontiac 400, runs great, does not smoke. Features include a 4 bbl quadrajet, edelbrock medium high rise intake manifold, new high performance dual IMCO turbo mufflers that sound excellent, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump, new alternator, new Taylor 8mm spark plug wires. Car originally came with the 350 but was upgraded to the more powerfull 400 engine. This engine runs great and is very very reliable it is currently my everyday driver, runs cool and cruises at whatever speed you want with no issues at all. It idles great and has very quick throttle response. It would drive to Las Vegas right now. Belts and hoses are good. Body-100% rust free, painted black with high quality PPG paint. It is a base coat clear coat paint job that was color sanded and buffed for a brilliant shine.It is not advertised as a show winner but the paint is great driver quality and will be welcomed at any show. It gets a lot of compliments wherever I go and I mean wherever I go. These pictures are recent and were taken on 08/13/2010 just before the Escondido car show where it got an amazing reception. The picture of Tony Stewart is a reflection off the cars paint. Car is kept in the garage. This paint job has never been the rain. A quick wash after work and it's ready to cruise. Car come with a can of touch-up paint just in case of any small mishaps. Chrome around the car is very nice. Rear bumper is straight and shines bright. The Glass all around the car is very very good with no cracks or issues. Steering/Brakes- Power steering that is dialed in and perfectly smooth with no belt squeeks or issues. Power brakes with front discs and rear drums that stop the car great. It has a brand new master cylinder that comes with a lifetime warranty. Shocks are good and the car sits very nice cruising down the road effortlessly with great handling. E- brake works as it should but the E-brake indicator light has been staying on recently. Not a big issue. Interior- Brand new headliner, seats are new, redone recently in both the front and rear. The padding is also new and the seats are extremely comfortable. Carpeting is in good shape, dashboard has a few cracks on top but has a dash cover that looks good. Guage faces all look great and light up nice. Lights, turn signals, side markers and brake lights all light up nice and work well. The the interior looks great and is mostly brand new. The heater works great, along with the windshield wipers. Non- AC car. The horn works. Kenwood stereo with 6x9s in rear and 5 1/4s up front. Added were three guages that work and light up nice and bright, these are oil pressure, temperature, and volt meter guages.The original dummy lights the car came with work as they should. Transmission- Turbo Hydromatic 350 automatic 3 speed transmission. Transmission works properly and shifts as it should. Has stock gearing. It takes off great off the line and still is able to cruise at 60- 80 mph on the freeway forever. Keeps up with todays traffic with no problem. It is not the slow muscle car in the slow lane unless you want it to be. Wheels/Tires- Has very nice Cragar street star wheels 15" all the way around with brand new cragar center caps and lug nuts. The wheels shine bright. New 275 60 15 Hancook radials in the rear, fronts are 205 60 15s with around 85% tread left. This wheel and tire combo cost me well over $ 1000.00 This car is a great driver that gets attention wherever you go, Like I said it is a very smooth running comfortable and reliable classic muscle car. My better half drives it to work a few times a week and if she can drive it with ease anyone can. All the pictures are recent and I tried to show the car at all possible angles. I am by no means a professional photographer and tried to portray the car as accurately as possible. I am not advertising it as a show car as it was built to be driven. It could be easily taken to the next level if you wanted to. Currently I cruise it to all the local shows and everybody loves it. This car is very rare and it is usually the only one like it. Thousands of dollars have been spent to get this car the way it currently sits. My reserve price is far less than what I have into the car. Issues- I recently lost the key to the door locks. I have looked but have had no luck finding it. The car will come with a brand new set of door locks with keys. The rear driver side tail lens has a small crack in it, not really noticeable to most. E brake indicator light stays on as I mentioned earlier which can be easily turned off. The gas guage works but the needle only goes up to a little past 1/4 tank which means it is full and goes down from there to empty. I have been driving it like this for a while and you still know how much gas you have left, when it goes down to E it is time to re-fill. These are all minor issues that most may not mention but I want the buyer to be completely satisfied as was my last E bay vehicle purchaser about a year ago. When the check clears the vehicle will be shipped. Shipping- The buyer is responsible for arranging their own pick-up or shipment of vehicle. I will deliver the vehicle to a local shipper in the San Diego area if needed. Buyer arranges and pays for shipping. Vehicle is being sold locally and I have the right to end the auction at any time.
