Vehicle Detail
Personal Car: I have driven this car from new to the present. Until recently, I still drove it from time to time. But, not a lot, so it has exceptionally low mileage for a car of this model year. Only a little over 60K miles!!! Has a recent state inspection, oil change, good Michelin tires and is very smooth driving. It has a sunroof, tape player and multi-CD player in trunk. Very nice leather interior. Working AC. Driver airbag. No significant body damage. Small door ding on driver's door. BUT, this car does have a couple of problems that need fixing, which is why I am starting bidding it at only $699. This is less than the engine alone is worth with such low mileage. Main problems: (1) Gear shift control does not work. Cannot change gears - it's just locked in Drive. This is gthe biggie. Clearly this must be fixed. (2) The paint is the BMW metallic green. Very nice looking. And, looks pretty good in the photos. Driveable the way it is. But, to have a really sharp looking car, you would need to repaint it. (3) The radio has been replaced in recent years, but is not working now. The display requesting the security code comes on, locking out the radio, but I don't have the code anymore. Working, used BMW radios can usually be bought on eBay at reasonable prices. PLEASE NOTE: This car is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS! No warranties are being made. I own it outright, so you bring a cashiers check or cash and I will sign over the title. The car is currently available for inspection (by appointment) at Stuttgart Auto Center, an independent BMW shop in Addison, Texas, that has maintained it for many years. I can refer you to the guy at Stuttgart who knows the car's history. Please call ME at 972-239-8198 to see and run the car. Or, contact me through eBay. On Aug-25-10 at 22:29:33 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL NOTE: I was contacted today by one person who felt it was not clear in the description that this car needs transmission work. I thought it was clear, but I want everyone to understand that the shifting problem is inside the transmission. So, please figure that into your bidding. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly what is causing the problem, because I decided not to pay the mechanics at Stuttgart Motors to take the transmission apart to find out. Naturn 8/25/10
