This is truly the rarest of rare finds in the vintage BMW marketplace. A 100% original E28 M5 with only 12,700 original miles(this is not a misprint, its 12 thousand seven hundred). This car is undoubtedly one of the best of the best of vintage M5's and without question one of the lowest mileage in existence anywhere in the world. Extensive research indicates only 1 car exists with lower mileage and that one recently sold to another collector last year. With the exception of only the tires, everything on this car is 100% original and absolutely perfect. It has been collector owned since new and meticulously maintained by professional Motorsport specialists. The original paint still shines like new and is completely free of dings, scratches, and any imperfections whatsoever (with the exception of a miniscule door ding just below the drivers door handle which is not even visible in the photos and difficult to find in person). This car is truly the most flawless example of this highly collectible and increasingly rare edition of BMW's legendary Motorsport performance sedan. The photos do not do this car justice as it looks even better in person. The interior is 100% original right down to the floor mats. And the pristine condition of the leather and carpeting certainly reflects the extremely limited use this vehicle has seen over the past two decades. Everything in the vehicle operates as it did on the showroom floor when it was purchased new in 1988 including the lights in the visor mirrors, the power seats, heated seats, and even the power headrests. The air conditioning is all original, leak free, and considerably colder than the systems found in new BMW's. As incredible as this car looks, its performance and mechanical condition is even more extraordinary. It is truly like driving a brand new one out of the BMW dealers lot. With its minimal and pampered use since new, this true time capsule provides the same level of world class acceleration and handling that made BMW's Motorsport cars legendary in the sports car market in the late 80's. I purchased this car last year to add to my private collection from another vintage sports car collector from New England. My plan was to keep this car long term but a few months ago I purchased some new property and am building a new home there and have decided to down size my collection. I will also be listing a few other cars from my long-time collection over the next few weeks. The car includes the original owners manuals, BMW glove box flashlight, and original BMW tools in trunk.
