Vehicle Detail
For sale is an extremely rare Kaiser Corporation Jeep CJ-6. The CJ-6 was a 20-inch (508 mm) longer-wheelbase version of the CJ-5. The CJ-6 was first introduced in 1955 as a 1956 model. The Jeep you are looking at is a 1969 model which was the last year for Kaiser Jeep Corporation, as the company sold to AMC (American Motors Corporation) in 1970 and effectively became "Jeep Corporation". This CJ-6 is further unique and highly collectible because it has the factory option 9-window steel hardtop made by Meyers, the factory option side air-scoops, the factory option M-170 pop-out windshield, and a dealer installed PTO Ramsey winch. The story of this Jeep is also very unique. Originally sold to the Irvine Ranch Company in '69 and in use as a ranch patrol vehicle, it was sold to the public in the mid Seventies. The owner took the Jeep to T&J performance, Orange, CA, where the CJ-6 went through a heavy trail use transformation. All the off-road and wheeling upgrades were done in the mid-seventies and are unchanged and in tact today. This includes a healthy Chevy 350 V8 engine, a 3 speed + Super Low manual gearbox, air activated lockers front and rear, an early Atlas Transfer Case, a Dana44 free-floating rear end, a shackle conversion up front, an additional 20 gallon gas tank was also installed, in addition to the factory 10 gallon tank. All the off-road items on this Jeep date to the mid-Seventies, including the early Beard Racing seats, the 4 inch 3-point lap belts, the CB Radio, the 10 foot antenna whip, the dual-Jerry can & spare tire swing-out carrier, the additional back up lights, and the list goes on and on... this CJ-6 is a complete time machine. This Jeep drives great, it is fast, lots of torque, great off road. There are no leaks, the engine is strong, everything works. Documented California Jeep since new, I am the 3rd owner, and have owned this Jeep for 12 years. I restored the Jeep 10 years ago, that was when it changed color from a brown-gold to the current black exterior. Driven occasionally as part of my collection, this Jeep is a rare find. I have seen a few CJ-6's over the years, never one in this rust-free condition, none with the 9-window hard top and M170 windshield option. This Jeep, like all my other Jeeps listed for sale on Ebay, has valid and current California Registration, new tags good through 2011. The title is clear and in my name. This Jeep is insured by Hagerty collector car insurance. I have collected Jeeps for many years, and I am selling a number of rare Jeeps out of my collection.
