1966 Ford Mustang GT!!! Here is an absolutely beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang GT that is an AUTHENTIC GT!!! Not a clone or a "GT package added! This gorgeous and rare Mustang GT (less than 3% of Mustangs built were GTs) is loaded with options. This car has the GT package from the factory which includes tauter suspension, quicker steering box, dual exhaust, DISC brakes, unique GT badges, front fog lights and a larger front sway bar. This package could only be added to the "A-code" engine which was a lightly upgraded version of the standard 289ci V8. Other options this car has is cold A/C, full console, Pony interior, power steering, emergency hazards, and styled "Pony" wheels. This car looks stunning finished in its factory correct "Vintage Burgundy" metallic over a Parchment Pony interior. This is a 2 owner southern California/Arizona car and the previous owner had owned it since 1978! This is a solid rust free car. Click to enlarge Exterior: This Mustang looks great finished in its factory correct Vintage Burgundy Metallic complete with white accent stripe and "Pony" wheels. The car was recently painted and it looks great!!! When the car was painted, it was done properly. The car was dismantled and painted... not a simple "tape and shoot" kind of paint job. The grill and much of the chrome appears to be original but is in very nice condition. The undercarriage of this car is nice and clean it appears to have its original floor pans. I really love the way the white letter tires, white stripe and contrasting chrome look with the beautiful paint. The color looks beautiful and sets it apart from the run of the mill red mustang. This is a car that you could bring to a local car show and show it with pride, or you could go on great long weekend drives in. Overall the exterior is in great shape. Click to enlarge Interior: The Parchment Pony interior of this classic pony car is new and in excellent condition. The front and rear seats upholstery is brand new and in excellent shape. The carpet is new as well and free of stains etc... The steering wheel is new as well and feels great in your hands as you drive down the road. The headliner and door panels are also new and finish the car beautifully. This car does have the desirable full center console along with A/C which makes this pony much more comfortable to drive during the summer months. The cars radio is a little out of date, and could use to be replaced as it is currently not hooked up to any speakers. To retain the classic look a modern radio could be added either under the dash or in the glove box. Overall the interior of this car is beautiful and is a great place to waste the weekend away. Click to enlarge Engine: The "A-Code" 289ci V8 fires right up and runs like a top. The car blows no smoke on start up or while driving. The engine has been treated to a set of the classic Cobra valve covers that finishes the engine bay nicely. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and is in great working order. The engine sounds great with its dual exhaust finished with the classic "trumpeted" exhaust tips that come in the GT package. The car runs nice and cool even in Arizonas hot and dry climate. The brakes have recently been gone through and the car stops nice and straight. The disc brakes really help slow this car down in a hurry. A new master has been installed along with new pads, shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware. The car has also been treated to a brand NEW set of BFG White Letter tires which give the car plenty of modern traction while retaining that classic muscle car look. The steering can often be a low point on a classic Mustang, but this car has power steering that makes it a joy to drive. This Mustang features the larger sway bar included in the GT package which gives the car a quicker "turn in." The undercarriage of this car is nice and clean it appears to have its original floor pans. This is a great cruiser with lots of factory options that allow you to daily drive the car with ease. The disc brakes stop the car great, the power steering makes it steer like a modern car and the cold A/C makes the drive much more comfortable. I havent had so much fun and pleasure driving a classic car in a long time. This really is a great car to spend time in!
