Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1955 Dodge Coronet 2dr sedan. It has the 270cid "Polysphere" engine (not the hemi) and the factory 2spd "PowerFlite" automatic transmission,(lever shift on the dash) 2bbl carburetor. 6 volt charging system. I have replaced: water pump, fuel pump, carb, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, voltage regulator, all wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake lines, master cylinder, front shocks, ignition tumbler w/keys. It has dual exaust through turbo mufflers with turn downs at the rear axle, the car sounds bigger than 270cid! The car runs like a top. The transmission does leak at the rear output shaft seal when it has sat for a week or more. The odometer shows 47,495.2miles. I don't know if it's been rolled over, the two service stickers in the door jamb show: 3/11/68 Sunoco - 22,169 miles and 3/24/71 Gulf - 35,094miles, you be the judge. Everything works, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, heater, defroster, dashlights (now L.E.D.'s). All bulbs have been replaced. I replaced the rocker panels, the passenger's side quarter panel and both front floor boards. The only issue with rust is the front body mounts under the driver and passenger floor boards, I got in a hurry to drive the car and didn't replace them, so they will need it. This car is a RATROD, not a show car, so there are dings here and there, some of the chrome is pitted, some is painted, again RATROD not a show car. The rims are vintage Keystones, 15". The interior is factory and all panels are there but would need redone unless you like the look, the back seat has the factory fabric on it with no tears, the front has a hole under the driver and would need recovered/replaced. The headliner is coming down/apart and would need replaced, again- unless you like the look. The frame is solid as is the trunk and door bottoms (this car would make an excellent GASSER candidate)! It has a clear OHIO title. I've got extra parts that go with it, including everything to change it over to 12 volts, and oil and a filter for the next change. I wanted to put a 440 in it but time and money are not available to me. I'm listing this with no reserve so good luck! Any questions you can contact me via email. Buyer responsible for pick up/shipping - for sale locally, I have the right to end this auction early. Thanks.
