Vehicle Detail
Hello! Up for sale is a 1962 Corvair Monza club coupe, equipped as normal with the deluxe interior and automatic transmission. She's no show winner, but she's solid as a rock with some very minor rust, but no rust through or rot, rare for these cars. I've owned her for three years, but she's been outside for two of those years. That hasn't helped her cosmetic condition, and she is dirty, but hasn't suffered any ills up to now due to the exposure. It is time for her to go. I half heartedly polished half her hood, and the difference is remarkable. With an afternoon's work, she'll look great. Her previous owners doted on her, but I've never done that for her. She deserves better. She turns over great, but I haven't gotten her started yet after sitting about a year. That won't be a problem. I guarantee she'll run, and this week I'll get her going. More than likely, it's dirty points. She ran fine before- no smoke, no valve clatter, very smooth runner. Only thing missing on her is a piece of the lower chrome off the rear window. It was lost before I got the car, and even Clark's doesn't have it. It will be your search for sure. My reserve will be very low, I need the room more than the money. Whomever buys her will be getting a sweet Corvair. Paypal deposit of $500 will be due by 72 hours after the close of the auction. All monies paid for the final purchase price are due within 1 week of auction's end and must clear my bank before the car moves from my yard. Sale is final, as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Clear title is in my name. I will not end auction early. On Aug-13-10 at 10:38:31 PDT, seller added the following information:For those watching the Corvair auction, or the bidders, you'll be glad to hear the 'Vair is UP AND RUNNING WELL! As I thought, all it needed was a dressing and cleaning of the points, and she was running on the first turn of the key. She's smooth, quiet, noise free, no clatter or smoke, running like a new car. As a matter of fact, I thought of canceling the auction, but I won't. I will say I knew this would be the result, but after not starting her for a year until I actually went out and did the point cleaning, you never can be sure. Well, I'm convinced! She's ready for a new owner!
