Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on an amazing little car. It's a 1974 air cooled volkswagen beetle that the previous owner had professionally restored (complete strip down and paint, new interior, engine rebuild, undercoat, new gas tank, window seals, weatherstripping, etc.) I've owned the car for over 3 years and have used it as a daily driver. Of course, I've kept it in the garage when not in use and didn't take it out when the weather was too nasty. While I've owned it, I've changed the oil regularly and replaced the starter and speedometer cluster (the odometer and fuel guage were not working when I purchased the car, but now all guages work as they should). This is a great little car that does well on gas, but my family is expanding and I need something with 5 seatbelts :( This car comes with a copy of the original owner's manual as well as a number of books and manuals (see pictures) -Tires have less than 4k miles (spare tire is new with 0 miles and original spare is included in sale) -Engine has approximately 40k miles since rebuild (the odemeter I installed reads 68,000 and counting, but the actual mileage of the vehicle is unknown) -Includes tow bar in case you don't want to drive it home -Previous owner used it for some local shows, but it would need some attention if you plan on showing it. -There is a dent on the driver's side front fender caused by my forgetfullness (I didn't set the brake and it coasted into my Honda Odyssey)(I disconnected the ebrake so I could tighten it, and it needs put back together) -There are some spots with surface rust and surface bubbling (see pics), but overall, the body is in great shape, as is the undercarriage. -Over $5000 invested, reserve is much lower than that! -For $500-$700, this car could really be turned back into a beauty, but is still an amazing head turner as it is right now. This vw is available for local pick-up only and a deposit of $500 is due via PayPal within 48 hours of auction's end. I will not ship this item anywhere. No international bidding please!
