1971 Barracuda 4 Speed This is currently a Plum-Crazy 71 Barracuda but it began life as a true BB 4 speed car. Original drive train however was replaced some years back by previous owner with a 340? Original engine and trans sadly long gone now as well as the 340 and trans it recently had which was pulled for another one of my own projects. Vin Decodes like this: Body Type: B = Barracuda Price Class: H = High Body Type: 23 = 2 Door Hardtop Engine: N = 383 300HP 1-4BBL 8 CYL Year: 1 = 1971 Sequence Number: 261281 = 161281st Vehical Built SEE - Pic of Fender tag. (I included but have not decoded it yet. Much of it is very hard to see.) *NOTE - The car currently listed with NO (drive-train) engine or transmission. However, this hard to find, true 383 4 speed 71 Barracuda is overall solid and complete otherwise. And comes with many new parts and all glass, trim, seats, nice carpet and interior, etc. - most complete with exception to Dash/Gauge cluster. Previous owner pulled the original dash cluster/gauges and installed all newer style AutoMeter gauges. Dash pad is surprisingly very solid and has no cracks or tears. Bucket Seats are very solid with no tears noticed as well. Back seats are also very nice. Not sure if this car ever previously had a console or not but it currently does not. Pistal Grip & Shifter is not currently listed with this auction but can be purchased seperate. Also, prior to my possession of the car the previous owner was in the middle of a new trunk floor and gas tank install (which I'm sure it needed). But it is not a completed job (see pics - yes there is some light surface rust on the new trunk floor but easily cleanable). If winning bidder is interested I can finish this install for an additional fee to the auction winner if so desired? Front end, suspension and brakes are in relatively good shape having been redone/replaced several years back by previous owner and shows with very low miles of use/wear since. Car has manual steering and drum brakes. From inspection the car appears to have a super solid frame and fairly good floors and body panels that appear to have been previously redone with a more amateur restoration but do understand that this car is NO rust bucket! With that said however, in my opinion for this car to be 100% perfect of course it certainly would need to be treated to a more solid restoration. And that may be what your looking for to do with it? However- :) If your that weekend warrior project seeker and as this car sits in current form? With the simple addition of your own desired engine and transmission and some weekend assembly, tweaking and cleaning it could most definitely be a very respectable driver and or weekend cruiser in it's current form if that's what you are looking for? I can even provide a drive train including instal or any additional work you might desire for additional but surprisingly affordable fees of course. Just contact me direct to discuss. That said, this Barracuda will come with everything displayed in pictures including a completely new trunk pan, new complete gas tank assembly, new rear valance with correct exhaust cut-outs and new front lower grille/ valance filler piece. Everything else for this car is complete and or on the car already. Also included is a go-wing, "cuda" badges on the hood, rear tail panel and interior door panels. Importantly of course is the front grille assembly, bezels, header panel, etc. are in relatively great shape too. The winner of this auction should be pleased with this car overall.
