I am re-listing, my Benz. A great looking car, it runs great as well. 1981 380SL Mercedes Benz Roadster Up for grabs is my trusty and tasty 1981 380sl Mercedes Benz Roadster. This is the first year with fuel injection. It's fast. This is the model with the back seat. Though you can't put much back there! IT IS CALIFORNIA SMOGGED !! 1. With a FRESH coat of paint! JUST PAINTED./ a few weeks ago! 2. With a BRAND new Alternator! / less than 700 miles on it or so.. 3. With TWO Brand new Tires!/ less than 100 miles on them. 4. With brand new floor mats, purchased from San Diego Mercedes. 5. With a brand new rubber boot that goes around the shifter. (automatic) 6. With a newer SEARS DIE HARD BATTERY. 7. With a new Car Cover./ I've had it for 2 months. 8. WITH NEW HOOD INSULATION./ Mercedes oem/ I've just had it put on professionally 9. With a brand new trunk Lock, and new key for it. 10. With a brand new Switch for the passenger window. 11. With an UPDATED SONY CD, IPOD Player./ it may be two years old, works great! (Sony CDXGT610UI) plays MP3, WMA, AAC, is a Changer Control, Satellite Radio Ready, USB FLASH drive In, Auxiliary In, has an IPOD Extension in the glove Box. (a great stereo) 12. With a brand new Power Steering Pump. I just put in over 2 grand in the car..in order to make it nice and pretty,...so as to easily sell.. The tires in the back ..are good for a while, the tires in the front are German, they are brand new. I had Midas give me all new brakes a while ago. Though I don't remember when that was, so I just had my mechanic check the brakes he says plenty of meat. It stops very well, no noise or squealing. No problem with the brakes. The windows, the lights inside, outside, they all work fine. The stereo is one of the good things about the car. It is a SONY CD Player EXPLODE with IPOD and FLASH drive and auxillary inputs, it also had eq to the stereo. I actually have updated the stereo twice..so, this one is pretty new. Again, it has an IPOD extension, so that you may hook up your ipod to it. I put the extension in the glove box. Then you'll use the stereo to shuttle from song to song. You can also, plug in a flash drive...directly into the stereo. (it has an input on the right) I also put in 4 inch infinity speakers in the dash.. I also, for awhile, misplaced the tool so that you can take the top off and on. So, I bought two on ebay, then found the original. So, you'll get two brand new chrome one's with the car plus the one that came with the car. (see picture) I also just had the speedometer removed and repaired. It was sent to L.A. to be fixed. It had a small problem and the lights were blinking... IT WORKS PERFECT now. I also just put a disconnect switch on the battery just for fun. If it sits a long time, you can easily save the battery by disconnecting it. The car has good shocks, I've never changed them, but it rides like a Benz.. I just changed the oil, (silicone, less than 700 miles ago) The engine is awesome, was reconditioned in the past 20,000 miles. (rebuilt) It runs STRONG, like new. The paint is beautiful. The interior is nice. No problems. The carpet is OK, with brand new carpet mats' purchased from Mercedes of San Diego. This car needs a new convertible soft top. But, honestly, I hardly ever used it. As when I took the hard top off, I just used the car cover to cover it. Then just used it as a convertible. After a while, I would put the hard top back on. YOU WILL GET A CAR COVER with this car by the way, It will be in the trunk. If you want a new top. You can buy a new convertible top on ebay for 325.00. There is a place in L.A. that will put it on for 250.00. But, a lot of people are like me, and they don't use the soft top anyway, so you don't really have to get a new one. This car has updated 15 inch Chrome Wheels. The former owner must have put them on there. (the wheels are the same one's the 560sl has) It really dresses up the look of the car. The best thing about the car, besides the gorgeous lines of the car and the stereo, is the engine, the thing really sings. You can't hear it idle at all. I've had this car ten years and it still amazes me. The radiator is good, no leaks.. IT DOES NOT OVERHEAT. Someone asked me about that, so, ..there are no problems with the Radiator, sit in traffic as long as you want, no problems. It runs cool. I have a newer container for the coolant, the radiator is fine. The transmission is fine, I've never had a problem with it. The engine is great, just make sure there is plenty of oil in there and change it often. It runs perfect and you can barely hear it at a stoplight. I'm moving to THAILAND soon.. My car is one of the last things to go, I will be buying a ticket as soon as the car is sold. So, this car has to be sold AS IS. Absolutely no returns, as I will no longer be on this side of the world! But, I would like it to go to a good home. Payment, I would like payment with-in three or four days you can have up to seven, but the sooner the better for me. I would take a cashiers check, just overnight a cashiers check to me. Shipping the car? Whatever you would like,.. pick it up. Drive it off, Southwest has good prices on flights right now and I am 4.6 miles away from the San Diego Airport. I have TWO brand new ignition keys to the car. That fit the glove box and the ignition. I ordered through Mercedes of San Diego, they are Mercedes keys) I also have two trunk keys and a new trunk lock. They are brand new as well. You'll get this car with a full tank of gas. (Chevron Techron High Test) And it is ready to be driven away. This car is at a low reserve. Again, this is a 1981 380sl, Mercedes Benz Roadster, fuel injected and f a s t. It runs as new, looks great! Beautifully painted, new floor mats, new alternator, new power steering pump, it runs fantastic, has a hard top which comes off, it it is also a convertible, California Smogged, licensed, and insured, I've been driving it..
