Up for sale is my beloved 850R....the only reason I am selling this car is to move on to a V70R wagon due to family situation. Up until last month I planned on keeping this car FOREVER and therefore took care of it to make sure it is in tip-top shape. Literally- I planned on making this a million mile car, and I have all the fait in the world it will make it that long. Car is my daily driver- love driving it. Handles excellent, turbo boost is incredible, and I get a lot of looks and compliments from people because they have never seen a Volvo like this. If you know anything about Volvo, you know two things: they will drive for 500,000 miles and beyond, and these R models are rare gems (only about 2,500 were shipped to USA; must be less than 500 in this red/black color combo in the states)!! I am the 3rd owner of the car (1st was a Volvo dealership executive, 2nd was a college professor). I got the car in 2005 with clean title and 160k miles on it. Any work that it has needed, I've had a Volvo specialist take care of it. I only use authentic Volvo replacement parts- no cheap aftermarket stuff! I literally would give my car to my Volvo tech every couple of months and say here- do whatever needs to be done and send me the bill. Here's a list of features: Fiery red exterior, black leather/suede interior 17" Volan rims, dark tint Rear and front spoiler Moonroof Automatic windows Premium Sound System and CD Player Heated Seats Power Seats Remote lock/unlock Turbo charged engine Sport suspension This is some of what I have done to the car in the last 5 years: New ECU performance computer chip ($1,000) New Timing belt done 15,000 miles ago Rear main seal Complete tune up done 15,000 miles ago New O2 sensors (needs one more- check engine light code) Brakes, rotors, calipers Antifreeze flush Synthetic oil changes Tires with less than 20k miles on them Detailed 1-2 times a year (buff, wax, carpet shampoo, etc) New starter New odeometer gear New fog lights The car is my daily driver and the turbo boosts strong, the car looks GREAT. 850 R ($37,925 MSRP): 2.3 L I5, 240 hp (179 kW) @ 5600 rpm and 221 ft·lbf (300 N·m) @ 2100 rpm Quirks: Power door locking system will lock itself automatically occasionally. Not sure why. Haven't looked in to it. The remote locks and unlocks the door, and it all works, it just sometimes locks itself. Weird. The car needs a wheel balance and alignment. On Aug-05-10 at 08:21:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on 8/5/10: -Just remembered a few things that I wanted to share: 1) I use synthetic oil for oil changes, and since I've done this, I have to add about 1qt of oil between oil changes. 2) In talking to my mechanic, he told me that the connector piece that holds the exhaust together behind the cat rusted off, so he welded the exhaust pipe together. It's been like that since January. I don't plan on fixing it and it passed inspection for another 2 years, but just an FYI. **TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP WERE DONE AT 247,000 MILES; as of today, car has 256k**
