Up for auction is a 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88 4-door Holiday Hardtop. If you like boats but aren't near the water, this is the car for you. This car literally floats down the highway. I purchased this car from the daughter of the original owner. Her father had given her the car but she was losing her storage and said she rarely drove the car. This car has spent its whole life in a garage. My wife and I flew out to Ohio and drove this car home. The only thing we needed to replace was a wiper blade. Since getting the car I have done the following: 1. Lowered the car 2 inches. Cut coils in front and blocks in the rear. 2. Replaced the carpet. 3. Repainted the white. The original owner would use whatever white paint he had to touch up door dings so nothing matched. The rose color is original. 4. Rebuilt the carb. Worked fine, just thought it couldn't hurt. 5. Replaced the U-joints. 6. Replaced the hood insulation and assorted rubber bumpers under the hood. 7. Replaced the rear brake shoes. Fronts were fine. 8. Hoses, belts and fuel lines were replaced by the original owner in 2005. 9. New exhaust from the manifolds back. (single exhaust). 10. Blasted and repainted the wheels. Added 1958 Oldsmobile hubcaps. This car has power steering and power brakes. Everything on this car works with the exception of the clock. The original AM radio even works. The car does not smoke or use oil. It does have a few small leaks but nothing major. All of the glass is good. This car is a true dream to drive. These things just ooze style. Yes it is a 4-door, but roll all the windows down and it just looks cool. Add in that awesome roofline and wraparound back window and you are ready to cruise in style. You will be hard pressed to find another car this nice for this price. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Car must be picked up within two weeks of auction close unless other arrangements have been made before the aution ends. If you can't pay for the car please don't bid.
