Vehicle Detail

This car was purchased online in fully stock condition by a soldier in IRAQ a couple years ago. He had the car shipped to the RX-7 Store for performance modifications while he was still deployed. Subsequently he met and married his wife, who was also deployed to Iraq. When they returned they needed a house and thus sold the car to me. I’ve had the car in storage for the last year. However, I need money for my business so it’s up for grabs again. The car has 36,000 original miles and only 2,500 miles on all of the performance modifications, including a fresh street ported motor. I have the results from a motor compression test performed by the local Mazda dealer, all positions better than OEM. I’ve also had the car thoroughly inspected by Rotary Performance in Dallas TX. The car currently dyno-tests at 365 HP, however the crew at Rotary Performance assured me the car could easily be re-tuned to produce around 475 HP. · 36,000 Original Miles · Only 2,500 Miles on Over $27,000 in Performance Upgrades · Non-Sequential Twin Turbo 365 HP Engine · Conservatively Tuned, Capable of Around 475 HP · Always Garaged · Adult Owned · Never Raced · Absolutely Mint Inside, Outside and Under Please note that the “non-collision” damage reported on the CarFax report is from installation of the ’98 Rear Spoiler and VIS Scoot Hood that was performed by dealer body shop. It’s free; just click the “join” link at the top of the page.) I passed it up because at the time I didn't think I absolutely had to sell the car. This is where I got the “buy-it-now” price. The car is like new inside & out, even has the new car smell. Even though the car has 365 HP it gets over 20 mpg out on the highway or when conservatively driven in the city. The car has a high and low output mode for the engine management system. It’s just a push button switch you can change on the fly. My plans were to bring the car back to the RX-7 Store and have them add a Methanol Injection System and re-tune it. (Methanol is an inexpensive liquid similar to what they add to pump gas to increase octane.) Anyway, I was going to have the Methanol Injection System setup to cut on when the car is in “high output” mode. The Methanol cools down and increases the density of the air/fuel mixture which would allow the car to be safely tuned to approximately 600 HP. Total cost for the Methanol Injection System & re-tuning would be around $1,000 at the RX-7 Store. Just by the way, this car is already a streak of lighting . . . really, its scary fast! :-) However, if you went with the setup mentioned above, the car would still drive and handle with good manners around town and get 20 mpg plus. However, when you switched it to “high output” you could out run pretty much any production car made today. Seriously anything . . . Vipers, ZR1 Corvettes, 911 Turbo Porches, and Ferraris basically anything. Not only that but you could do it for a tiny fraction of the cost of the least expensive of the cars mentioned above while getting over 20 mpg during your daily driving. The curb weight for this car is less than 2,400 lbs, compare that to the carbon-fiber edition 2010 ZR1 Corvette weighing 3,333 lbs and costing $110,000. Also, if you don’t put a ton of miles on it this car will hold its value. You might even make some money on it after the economy improves. I have to sell the car because I need money to get my business off the ground. Otherwise, I honestly wouldn’t be selling it. Thanks for looking & feel free to contact me with questions!
