Vehicle Detail

This car is about fun, experience and a lot of skill money and time spent making it the best it can be. Perfect car for someone who doesn’t have the time or access to the necessary parts and experienced technicians When I hear “unrestored” I cringe. My first Model 96 was a unrestored barn queen that spent 20 plus years sitting in a barn in eastern Oregon. A little poking around and she fired right up and ran like a kitten. The distributor rotor was bad. I’ll never forget the first mile I drove that car. The brakes were almost gone. The car was unsafe above 50 mph due to bad shocks and bushings and my only thought was ,”How can this car ever do 60 mph????” Far too many people have had the same thing happen. The solution costs between 12 & 20,000.00 depending on the original condition and the level of restoration. This is my personal car that has been rebuilt by the best shop in the North West. My goal was to have a car that I can drive every day across town or across country with as close to 100% reliability as possible and with help from Garth & Fred Ankeny it has exceeded all expectations. It has had all power train components rebuilt or replaced. Head and block tanked & magnafluxed, new oil & water pump upgraded timing gears, Big Valve heads, lightened flywheel, Porsche clutch and on and on and on. Freewheel works like a clock and the transmission shifts without noise or flaw. Rubber down to the grill grommets has been replaced and the car is water tight and rust free. Rare two barrel manifold was installed with Weber 32/36 carb and sport performance headers and exhaust. Motor mounts were replaced and a Jack Ashcraft reinforced transmission mount was used…..to be sure…. J I’m currently restoring a 1967 & 1968 Model 96 and already I envy the new owner of this car as the basic process for a successful restoration is the same. I’m fortunate to have access to some of the best qualified people in the country The car has no accident history and nothing that needs to be fixed….right down to the working clock. It will drive from here to Florida or any other state today and will give its new owner years of smiles. Speaking of driving I’d be glad to deliver anywhere west of the Mississippi for expenses.
