Vehicle Detail
Never had a reason to sell on E-Bay before today! What a beauty! I have only owned the car for a short period, have taken it to a few car shows and was inspired by the reactions that I received. "Amazing condition" "I can't believe that is the original paint" Praises from how well the glass, engine, interior, stickers, everything has been extremely positive. Hence the reason for the sale. The car should be in someone's collection or perhaps a museum. Jay Leno are you out there? Everything works as new. A/C, power windows, Power Mirrors, Removable Sunroof, remote fuel door, Original Radio, equalizer and unique fader control joy stick, etc. Even the power antenna works as new. I purchased the car from an older Gentleman in town who owned for last 21 years and only put on approx 4000 miles. He purchased the car from his neighbor who ordered and purchased new. Car was stored every winter as I even have the notes from both previous owners. The first owner hand wrote each date the RX-7 when in and out of storage, how many miles each year, maintenance etc. The second owner has a summary of how long he owned it, how many miles he drove the car and that he was never in an accident and that he stored the car each winter. The only items that are not original on the car are the Tires, Battery and one hatch strut that I replaced. I kept the original strut as well. Body and Interior Even with a super model, the car is 26 years old, there are some minor flaws. However they are few, the most notable being a screw mark in the bumper cover behind where the front license plate bracket would be. I removed the Licence plate bracket so you can see the marks. The bracket is included with the car, but is bent somewhat but still functions well as a license plate bracket. There is some slight scratches in clear coat on the rims, few tiny chips in the paint that have been touched, slight scratchs by rear hatch lock set and two little marks on passenger seat. Most you would have to hunt for to find. Only the screw damage to the front bumper shows up on film. A body shop guy stopped to gaze at the car at one car show and showed me there were two tiny, (dime size) dents, not scratches, that could be removed with "spoons", but I can't even relocate them to try to get them on film. The body shop guy was very impressed with the condition of the car. The rear carpet in hatch area shows the original unused spare tire outline below. Carpet, not warn, but shows the outline of the tire from sitting on top of it for 26 years. There is the original padding, in exellent condition, between the carpet and the spare tire. (I'm telling you every little detail of known inperfection) Otherwise, everything thing, is in Amazing, Original condition. There are no cracks in the dash, doors or anywhere. This car has obviously spent its life out of the sun and eliments. See how clean and white the fan blades and fluid containers are under the hood? The interior smells fresh and clean. I do not believe it was ever smoked in. See the original fuel sticker on the fuel door and the stickers on the glass and under the hood, on the door jambs? All amazing condition. The reflections in the pictures of hood and top are of Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Engine and Running The car has a Manumatic Choke system. Pull out the choke knob, start the engine. adjust the choke knob for warm up idle and once the engine is warm the choke system will turn itself off. This car has an 1146 cc twin Rotary Wankel motor. I have only seen the engine smoke slightly at start up once after it has sat for a few weeks. I understand this is completely typical of a twin Wankel Rotary motor. Otherwise, I have never seen any smoke come out of the tail pipe as I have tried, so that I know the engine to be strong. In fact, you can hardly see the oil on the dipstick since the oil has been changed so many times without any driving miles between changes. It Starts, runs, pulls, drives all excellent. Engine runs right up to redline very smooth and exciting. There is even a buzzer that comes on at 6300 or so RPM to remind you to upshift. (how cool is that?) Runs down the road as it should, no rattles or issues. Clutch take up and shifting through the 5 speeds are all excellent. Tires were replaced in 2002. They still have the little "knobbies" on the outsides of the tires. Tread on all tires is excellent. Battery was replaced in 2007. Car does not pull to one side or the other. The car is equiped with original "manual" steering. Steers and drives like a go cart, I think. Therefore, I think the car is an Amazing, well preserved, Original condition RX-7 that would fit in some car guy's personal collection or in a car Museum somewhere. I really think its that nice. The car is located in Green Bay, WI. 10 minutes from the airport. If you are interested in seeing the car, or sending an inspector, during the auction, I would be happy to set up a time to show off the car. My phone number for questions or appointments is Todd 920-676-1489 The Car is being sold as is with no express or implied warrenties. I have not owned the car for long, but once you have seen these pictures, you can agree on the overall condition. The successful bidder will place a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of close either through cash, certified check or credit card. The remaining balance shall be paid in cash or certified check within 7 days of auction end. The car does have Wisconsin Collectors plates that can be transfered to a new Wisconsin owner, a small perk for a potential Wisconsin buyer. Good luck bidding On Aug-02-10 at 18:22:52 PDT, seller added the following information: New Information as of 8/2/10. An independent inspection was performed on the car and I would like to disclose additional results: There are "9" total "light dings" reported on the car, I origianlly stated there were two. (sorry, I did not see these) These dings can all be repaired "paintless" according to the inspector. The inspector also noted a slight wind noise from the passenger window, slight oil seapage from the differential pinion, a slight seal seapage at rear of transmisson out put seal and slight seepage from the speedo cable. "slight seepage" That is it folks! This is from Cliffwall Subaru Mazda dealer in Green Bay, WI. 920-468-8898 (Mike) This inspection was ordered by a potential buyer, but since I now know of these items, I wanted to disclose to all.
