Vehicle Detail

Just back from large antique auction, Truck did not bring the 15K that was expected, so it will be listed on ebay at a low start bid. up for bid is a very nice, very dependable 1977 Ford F-250 3/4 ton Factory Highboy 4-Wheel Drive Truck. LAST OF THE FACTORY HIGHBOYS from the 1967-1977 F-100, F-150, F-250, era. It is in very nice original shape. It has a very early Feb. build date. It has a 400 2-BBL C.I engine with a C-6 Automatic Transmission. Dana 60 Rear and Dana 44 Front axles Engine and trans were rebuilt well before 100K. It has very low original mileage, now less than 104K. This truck has been sitting for years and not used hardly at all. as you can tell it has just sat most of its life. It is still wearing most of its original paint. This is a solid and straight western truck from its first owner and will come with all of its factory and dealer paperwork, window sticker, owners manual, certicare card and other papers etc. The interior has the luxurious Ford truck interior with many options THAT SMELLS AND LOOKS NEW and is in excellent condition. The old Ford bus seat was removed for a pair of very nice matching blue cloth Ford Super Duty bucket seats. These seats are very comfortable to sit on and really compliment the already beautiful interior. A New carpet was installed as well as high quality thick foil underlayment for sound and to hook up a future sound system inside but never got there. The monster copper wires are positioned underneath ready for a nice sound system The door panels are still in excellent condition as well as the dash pad that is still soft and being protected with a cover. The dash panel was removed for a factory air set up. I thought the truck looked better inside with it. It has been installed with all the factory ducting behind dash ready for a compact streetrod A/C unit that has not been installed yet. they are very reasonable in price now and very compact for the new owner. All the hard work is done complete and ready to go for a unit install. I wanted factory looking air but did not want the bulky factory complex underhood unit taking up space. Aftermarket streetrod technology now allows for a small unit to be concealed underdash and take up very little space and cool incredibly well. This is a very nice truck to drive. It feels like a Lincoln Continental inside and gets compliments everywhere it goes. It really sticks out in traffic. The exterior has the very desireable Midnight Blue Metallic paint with the white tu-tone center. Very nice color combination. The truck has always had a slide in camper in the bed since new so the box is in excellent condition less some paint scratching. The tailgate was garaged for most of its life with the camper on and is in excellent shape as well. The truck also has a brand new set of Aluminum 16" X 9-3/4 wheels installed. The B.F. Goodrich All Terrain T/A tires have good tread left. Here are the options and upgrades as follows: New aluminum wheels, high output heater, Super Duty bucket seats, luxury interior with very nice headliner, door panels, dashpad, dash, new carpet that runs all the way up to the bottom of the rear window, factory Ford sliding rear window with tint, Lighted sun visor like a Lincoln Continental, Dual maplight compass temperature rear view mirror, Ramsey winch with remote head, with custom chrome front bumper for winch, never used it, 3 fuel tanks total, 2 plastic saddles and a steel cab tank, heavy duty trailer hitch welded to the rear of the Highboy 1-ton frame, accessory Ford rear padded bumper, new Sears Die Hard battery, new Edelbrock Hi-Flow Water Pump for towing, All new hoses, belts etc.. new fan shroud, rebuilt the factory H/D Highboy radiator, clean cooling system, Carburator rebuilt as well as engine and trans. Starter,Solenoid, cables etc.. New High Quality PPG tinted and shaded windshield with new rubber gasket. I am sure that I am leaving out alot, Please ask all questions before bidding! As you can tell from the mileage, this truck has been just sitting and not being used much all through its life, I have decided not to ship it to anymore auctions, I will list it on ebay with a low start and see what happens, I would like to see it used by someone that will take care of it. It is very hard to find any factory highboys that haven't been well used by now or rusted out. This is a rare chance to get one unmolested. Anytime there needed to have a part replaced on this truck, The cost was never an object and always went with a quality part. This will make someone a very nice truck to drive as is or a great start for a SHOW TRUCK. Other than the usual chips, door ding here or there or scrapes this truck is very presentable, It does have a few small leaks here and there but I am sure if it was driven daily for a while they would seal up. The body has all of its original panels, even the paint is mostly all original less hood and a spot blend area on the front left boxside but looks great. The only rust ever seen on the body was a very small hole the size of a quarter on the right rear box by bumper and a smaller spot on the left side rear by bumper on the left in the original paint The rest of the truck is rock solid inside and out even over the wheelhouses. Both sides are ROCK SOLID WESTERN TRUCK and Never Worked! A very nice solid and straight truck and all mechanicals work, 4-wheel drive etc... Tires have good tread but sidewalls are checked from sitting and still work fine. The turn signal switch does not cancel but have a new ford part in its original box for new owner, I also pulled out the cassette deck installed in the 1980s and put in the AM-FM Ford radio but can't get it to work, I might be the problem on that. another item for the new owner also will need fancy Ford rearview mirror hooked in, pretty simple though, one hot wire and one ground wire. Bid often! $500.00 non refundable deposit to be made via PayPal no later than 24 hours from auctions end. The balance due no later than 5 days from auctions end with cash or certified bank funds. Clear title in hand will not be released until bank payment clears! You are responsible for shipping or driving it home! However I will help your shipper load if you arrange and pay for it yourself. Thank you! Due to Non Pay bidders in the past I will be forced to not accept bids from anyone that has less than 10 feedbacks. Sorry but it costs money to relist from a bidder that bids but does not finalize payment. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay!On Jul-28-10 at 11:41:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional pictures have been loaded per individual requests. As you can see the underneath of the truck is dry and rust free, there is also the original numbers matching highboy build tag still under box denoting all of the original items truck was built with. Please note engine compartment or underneath of truck body has not been detailed so you are looking at all original components other than the new short shaft u-joints pictured on this still very original truck. Also the beauty of this last year of highboy is that this truck DOES HAVE FACTORY disc brakes on front. It also has a divorced transfer case separate from the transmission with its own short driveshaft (Meaning you could easily put an AOD Ford overdrive 4-speed automatic in place) of the existing C-6 3-speed Automatic for an extra gear and great fuel economy. You would only need the short driveshaft from the transmission shortend to complete. This separate trans/transfer case is a much better set-up than the other years that the transmission has to bolt directly to the transfer, as there is no way to move transfer case for an overdrive if wanted. On Jul-29-10 at 21:28:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I HAVE BEEN ASKED ABOUT THE WIPERS AND YES,THE TRUCK DOES HAVE THE OPTIONAL INTERMITTANT WIPERS!On Jul-30-10 at 08:10:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Answer to question. This truck has never been smoked in. The ashtray is still brand new inside and just holds registration and insurance card.
