Vehicle Detail
Available is a 1971 Early Ford Bronco project that I have lost interest in. This is the perfect Bronco for the right person who wants to finish it for their own taste. I bought it from the previous owner who was restoring it for himself, and decided to sell it unfinished. I have taken it to the next level, but I have grown tired of working on it, and want to pass it on to someone to finish her. As they say "all the hard work has been done!" The Bronco had cut fenders, so the PO bought and installed new front fenders and rear lower quarters to put it back to it's original uncut look. The front floors and inner fenders by the firewall were replaced with new metal, that's it. The rest of the Bronco was already rust free. The rockers, door and striker posts, tailgate, rear bed, windshield frame, hood and grill were already rust free. The rear bed is all original. There is no rust repair left to do. The rockers and rear quarters all have their factory seams, nothing was filled in. It is hard to see the factory rocker seams in the pictures. I spent $1600.00 on the prep and paint work. The paint is the original 1971 Swiss Aqua code #3. It's paint was all original before I had it painted. The paint is driver quality better than Maaco, but not show quality. It was perfect for this Bronco. The dash, bumpers, and steel door panels are all painted Wimbleton White. The Bronco may look a little dusty, because all I did was push it out of my garage and dust her off and take some pictures. I didn't bother washing it, because it didn't look that bad. New items include windshield and rubber (Sport aluminum windshield trim included), new turn signal lenses and pads, new tail light lenses, FORD front and rear decals in Red, new door weather stripping (not installed yet, new Drake chrome door handles. Items included, but in not yet in/reinstalled include wiper motor cover and visors, door glass and regulators, vent windows and all associated hardware it install, spare tire hardware, front and rear seats (all need recovered), master cylinder. Basically, I have everything necessary to finish assembly, and get the Bronco back on the road. All the parts are bagged and boxed up,. and were put back in the Bronco after I took the pictures. It has a beautiful hardtop with no rust and the factory headliner. This is a late '71, and has the more desireable Dana 44 front end. Ford upgraded midyear in 1971 from the Dana 30 to the more heavy duty Dana 44. I received the Bronco in non running condition, and it currently does not run. The person I bought it from has sold me 4 Broncos over the last few years, and has a good reputaton. He was restoring this one for himself, and he vouched that it ran and drove fine. That was good enough for me. The wiring was moved for paint, and has been relocated to its correct position, that's why it didn't run. It would take very little to get it running again. The dash is uncut and has the original AM radio still intact. The underside has the typical surface rust, grease and grime, and has not been cleaned yet. The exhaust system has some leaks, and should be changed to a dual exhaust in my opinion. This is a 39 year old vehicle, and is sold as is with no warranty. It is sold with a clear title. If you aren't familiar with older vehicles or Early Broncos, you may want to find something else. Please ask any questions BEFORE you bid. The Bronco is in my garage at my house, and can be viewed anytime. Contact me for an appointment. If I can't get close to what I have into it, I'll finish it myself and sell her in the near future. I figure this is the perfect project for the right person. The doors close great and have zero sag. I have other pictures, if you want another view please ask and I'll be glad to send them to you. Also, if you have zero or negative feedback contact me before bidding or I will retract your bid. The deposit is non refundable. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks. On Jul-27-10 at 20:28:20 PDT, seller added the following information: IT'S ALIVE!!! I had a couple of locals come by and look at the Bronco last night, which inspired me to get her running. I bought some new cables, hooked up the starter solidnoid, put in a new battery and hit the key...she turned over no problem. I poured some gas and starting fluid into the carb and she fired right up! I should have her running and driveway driving tomorrow. She's running off of a 2 liter bottle of premium for now! No knocking or lifter noise. Oil level is good with no water or gas smell in the oil. This is a good engine! I'll guarantee that. The starter is a little tired. I may change it out since they are only 20 bucks and 2 bolts. We'll see. It has a Holley 2 bbl carb, and electronic ignition distributor (no points). On Jul-29-10 at 18:10:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Great news! She now is a running and driving Bronco. She starts right up with no smoke, no lifter noise, or anything. I have a brand new master cylinder ready to install the is included. Oil pressure is 60 psi. She's ready to be driven on a trailer. I'm including a good battery also. Thanks. On Jul-29-10 at 18:13:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I also installed a set of Autolite plugs for good measure!
